Wild flowers

A card for Less Is More which this week asks for Pastel colours, I'm not a pastel fan but thats what challenges are all about doing something outside your comfort zone .I had been playing about with the Hero Wildflower garden stamp earlier in the week so decided to have another play with it. Its stamped with Versamark and coloured with Pearl Ex powders. It was a dreadful card to scan . I will have to start and use my camera but as I almost always craft and post late at night its hard to get a decent photo without a flash and if I use the flash it seems to spoil the colours and also I get a lot of shadows.

  2. This is really pretty Joan. Those flowers are so delicate and the pastel shades are beautiful.
I know what you mean about crafting at night and camera flashes. I usually hang on to the next day to take the photographs of my cards in daylight.

  4. Joan, I totally understand about photographing the card late at night. I try to do all my photography during daylight hours...however, today was rainy and gloomy all day, so I'll have to wait until another day. The card is absolutely delightful!! Love that HA stamp!

  5. HI Joan, this is a lovely pastel card... I wonder why they seem so scary? I too pondered for ages before settling on what to do.
The image is really delicate and suits the pastel colours well.
I must say that I'm not a fan of scanned cards as they seem to lose vitality and often seem washed out!
Thanks for joining in yet again and we'll look forward to seeing you next week!

  12. I really like the flowers and the way you've stamped them onto the die cut. I struggled with the pastel theme this week - but your powders have caught the pastel theme brilliantly!

  13. I have the same problem re taking pics, its frustrating especially if you have spent time on something. My lovely hubby bought me a light tent for xmas, and it helps to diffuse the light, but I have seen (and tried myself) making my own light box - an old shoe or boot box is ideal, cover with white paper inside and it creates a blank background. It may work for you. Your card is lovely, the pastels are perfect on this beautiful image, very pretty.

  17. I have this stamp set - you really have done it justice with the pastel pallette - I usually do it in black on a distressed background - it looks great - and thanks for the tip on scanning cards must give it a go x

  22. Ooohhh one of my favourites from this weeks entries, loving your card!!! ' Very delicate and elegant.
Joan i take most of my pictures at night and use my craft lamp (has a day light bulb in) to illuminate my images. You can get rid of shadows by shooting the card/image from an angle rather than straight on. If any further manipulation is required i use Windows Picture Viewer to adjust the midtones, works very well and i hope this helps:-)
