memories

I thought I would try and get away from my usual pinks and lilacs that I always seem to go for in doing this kind of card but I'm not too sure I'm happy with the greens and browns. Whenever I pick up this stamp I think about my sisters, I think my younger sister bought me this stamp a long while ago, but this card is really about my older sister who got married and went to live in California when I was 19 years old, I never stopped missing her. In the early years we kept in touch by letter and she was so good at writing to all the family, later when the phone calls became a little less expensive we managed a few calls, then of course we got the internet and could write every day if we wanted to.She did visit home regularly until her husband became ill and the visits were harder to arrange and we did manage a few trips over there.  She is no longer with us and I still miss her every day. Although I covered most of it up one paper has postcards and postage stamps etc on it and the script one is to represent a letter. She was a happy, bubbly person and this is about my happy memories of her.

  5. I think these muted green and browns are just perfect for this card and gives it an added aged feel. Such precious memories you have and this card reflects them beautifully
