No Patterned Paper

This weeks challenge at Make My Monday is right up my street as I very rarely use designer papers, find in harder than making my own backgrounds and can never seem to match papers up very well, plus all the matting and layering takes for ever LOL !  I laughed when I read Caz's description of making her card, mine is a similar tale, the white embossed and inked piece of card was a left over from making a resist card for a challenge a few weeks ago and the layered butterfly came from a little box I keep on my table containing all kinds of butterflies, flowers and other bits and bobs, it just happened to be a good match for the background, found the little flower in a tin with others made with Tim Holtz tiny flowers die and the ribbon was an oddment in my ribbon box.Nearly had a disaster stamping the verse as it slipped slightly on the block but doesn't look too bad. I'd like to enter my card into

Make My Monday - No designer paper

Snippets Playground - butterfly and ribbon

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Powder/power (embossing powder, not sure if my entry counts as I ironed off the embossing !)

  2. I'd forgotten all about ironing off embossing - it's made a beautiful delicate background that goes perfectly with your butterfly

  3. The soft blues and pinks make for a very romantic feel to your lovely card Joan. I am so pleased it's not just me who struggles with matching papers, even when they come from the same pack I am never happy.

  9. Oh my goodness! This card is so gorgeous! I am in love with the color palette and am so impressed at how skillfully you blended the colors. It looks almost magical and I adore the way the white pattern looks in the background. And wow! I didn't even know you could iron off embossing, so thank for teaching me a new technique! And yes! I'd say that totally counts for our challenge because you did, in fact, emboss at some point! Well done and thank you so much for sharing such an inspiring piece with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
