Time waits for no man

The Theme Thursday this week was "Busy" I spent ages making an atc and then decided it was just too busy and I didn't like it anyway! Decided to have a play with these Elusive Images stamps and this is the 4 x4 I made with them.

RAK

Had a lovely surprise in the post today, got this very pretty altered matchbox and two atcs from Carol. We have never met but Carol contacted me after receiving an atc from me in a swap and we have become "penfriends" She writes me lovely long chatty letters which I really enjoy getting, I am not so good at writing to her as I should be (memo: must try harder ! ) The matchbox is full of beads, sequins, mini jigsaw pieces, ribbons etc, ,made my day !

Jigsaw piece

This is my jigsaw piece for Tuesday Taggers challenge. The two little cuties in the photo are my brother and sister (who are now both pensioners !) The jigsaw piece was painted with acrylic paint and decoupaged with serviettes and then stamped. The chipboard frame is ultra thick embossed.

Time Tag

This is my tag for Tag Tuesday, I was delighted when I saw the theme was "Time" the hardest part was choosing which stamps to use as I have loads of clocks, watches, time related sayings etc as they are one of my favourite things, my husband collects clocks, I just collect the stamps! all the stamps used on here are from Paperartsy except the "when you are having fun" which is from See D's

shabby chic ?

Thought I would have a play with another couple of new stamps my sister sent me for Christmas.I had wanted the bird image for ages then when I got it couldn't think what I had wanted to do with it, went for the distressed look here with my new Tim Holtz verse and the fabulous "messy, mucky
splats and dots" stamp from the same set.I can usually make my own mucky fingerprints etc, usually on a pristine white card I have just finished but its lots more fun to use this stamp,I can see it being one of my favourites.

Messy- who me ?

Seen a few blogs showing their work tables/desks, well this is my room after my friend left today, we only made one card each and I made a tag after she left, don't know how we have to have so much stuff out and I had already put away the boxes of 12x12 papers. The dresser always looks pretty much like that, in fact its tidier than it is sometimes . I usually manage to put most of the stuff away before I go to bed and it is surprising how quickly I can clear it all away.

Frosty the snowman

Here is my card for the Winter Wonderland challenge which is a sketch this week. The papers are Paperartsy and the snowman stamp is Butterfly kisses, sentiment is Stampativity.
Found it quite hard to make Christmas cards this week as I was not in the mood, wanted to play with inks and messy stuff instead ! at this rate I will have all my Christmas cards made before the summer holidays !

Glitter

This is my card for the Bah! Humbug! challenge which is for Glitter. The first photograph is very poor but I was trying to catch the glitter on it .The second photo is how it looks really but it doesn't show the glitter. This was one of my very first stamps years and years ago and I think I have made some cards with it every year. I have just realised that I usually colour the windows ! Will have to do that later............

Number Three

This is my take on the challenge on Theme Thursday. I don't really have a favourite number so just looked for a stamp with numbers on !

New Graphic 45 Papers

New Graphic 45 papers arrived today, great service from Stampeezee as I only ordered them late on Thursday night. These two very quick and easy cards are made from the "A Proper gentleman" range. As I have a lot of cards to make for men in February and March I think I will be using a lot of these! I also got some of The Boardwalk and The Romantique collections, I love their papers probably because they are so vintage.

Left Overs !

Did not think I had anything to do the Tuesday Taggers challenge as I had cleared away all the Christmas wrapping, tags etc, then I found this roll of brown paper that came out of the middle of a roll of Christmas paper, the piece of cardboard was just kept in my usual hoard ! The covers are covered with pages from an old road map book, the pages are cut from the brown paper. I havn't used the bind it all for a while and messed up a bit with it. The little tag and ticket and ideology pin are left overs from a class I did last year.

Lady Of The House !

When I saw the theme for this week on Tag Tuesday I didn't think I would bother , I have never done anything like this before ! Eventually I talked myself into trying and once I got my head round the fact that I could use the tag as a dress it began to make some sense (ha ha) I thought the sentiment part looked rather like an apron so I have decided she is my domestic goddess. I don't think I will be making any more of these dolls but I have enjoyed the challenge !

Burgundy and Teal

This weeks Winter Wonderland challenge was to use the colours Burgundy and Teal, I have to say it is not one of favourite colour combinations and I had trouble finding anything to use. The Little Chickadee birds are stamped in Teal Encore ink,the spotty paper is Papermania. The stamp is Red Lead Design and another one of my Christmas gifts from my Sister , love it ! One of my resolutions for this year is to stop buying embellishments (which I then never use) so made my own using various punches.

Naughty or Nice

This is my entry for the Bah!Humbug! challenge which was to use something new also suggested making a Christmas card with a stamp which was not a Christmas stamp. I just got this stamp last week in our local craft shop, they had all their wood block stamps reduced so bought one or two!!!!

New Christmas Tree Stamp

This Christmas Tree stamp is from a set of Craft Individual stamps that a friend sent me for Christmas, very quick and simply card to make. The Tree is gold embossed although it doesn't look it on here, the sentiment is also gold although it looks black !

Heart tag

I started out to make some atcs for our January theme which is valentine or red&black, didn't think I had many stamps on that theme as I don't "do" romance ! however I found these stamps on a sheet of Elusive Images stamps but found the verse one too big for atc so it ended up as a tag. I thought I might enter it on Theme Thursday although most of the stuff on there is so good mine might look a bit sad !

Little Birthday Girl

New stamp from my lovely sister. My Christmas parcel from her went walkabout this year much to our dismay ! however it finally turned up yesterday to much relief ! full of lovely stamps for me !
This is my entry for colour create challenge which was kraft/blue and white with an option of texture. I don't have any kraft card so used the nearest I could find. The white "meshy" stuff is my texture

Tuesday Taggers

When I saw the theme for Tuesday Taggers I thought "great" I have lots of bird stamps and I like tags. Well this card did not want to be made! Its one those cards you know you should give up on but being a very stubborn person I was not about to give up on it and while I am not very happy with it this is my entry for Tuesday Taggers . Stamp is Crafty Individuals.

Its all about today

After spending ages making the Owl card I thought about these two cute little bird stamps and wished I had used them, made these two very quickly.Stamps are by Inkadinkado. They look like they are a bit wonky though! It was very late (or very early as it was about 1am when I made them) so thats my excuse ..........

Birthday Tag

Thought I would have a go at making a tag for Tag Tuesday although I am in awe at the beautiful examples on there ! I am still fascinated by how my scanner changes colours, the three brads on this tag are all the same colour so I am bemused as to why the top one is purple . I am having a little technical problem right now as next doors kitten is "helping" me by trying to walk on the keyboard.

bit of a hybrid !

This is a bit of a mixture, the car image is "salvaged" from an old birthday card of my husband's, I really liked the distressed look of it.
The sentiment is stamped on another bit of the card and yes, the dirty fingerprints are meant to be there, they are part of the distressed look ! This card is going to be for one of the grandsons who is a car mechanic so the "oily" look is appropriate. The cogs stamp is Paperartsy, the sentiment Clarity stamps, the little spanner charm came from The Works.
We have a load of family birthdays in February and March and they are almost all male ones. I need to get started on them as they are the ones I struggle with most, sometimes I do give in and buy the odd card but I hate to do that when I have so much unused stash. I just saw something on Ikki's cuttlebug cupboard that gave me an idea so I'm off back to have another look !

Miss You

This is my entry for Winter Wonderland which is a sketch this week. I've had this stamp for quite a while and not used it before. The bird looks pretty lonely which suggested to me to use the Miss You sentiment. The papers and flowers are some I got at Embsay on Friday ,they are from the Papermania capsule collections, there were a lot of pretty colours so may have to have some more!

Recycled !

Thought I would do a recycled card for the new Bah Humbug challenge, got on a bit of a roll and made five. At this rate I will have all this years cards done by the end of January !
Everything is from last years Christmas cards except the cardstock. What did we do without nesties and embossing folders ? I have always salvaged bits and pieces off cards before I throw them away they just end up in a box of other Christmas bits and pieces, maybe I will use some more of them now. I keep every handmade card I get, there is no way I would throw any of them away. The black edges are not part of the cards,I scan them on a piece of black card otherwise the edges don't show.

Joy Card

I have made this type of card before but did not know it was called a "Joy" card. I saw a challenge and tutorial on (I think) Dutch Dare ? I don't know if I can enter it on their challenge as it is not done via a "Mr Linky". I have only just started to do challenges and am on a learning curve here ! I am really enjoying doing challenges and its lovely to get nice comments from people, thank you . I finally got my scanner problems sorted, what a numpty I am ! my photo scanner apparently has a lock switch underneath ( I never knew that!!!) and it had got switched on somehow, all that grief for nothing. The other scanner which I really never use had not been properly re-installed after I had my computer sorted out last time, anyhow got a few other glitches sorted out too so touch wood everythings now in good working order. We have been over to Skipton today, the views were fantastic with the sun shining on the snow, lovely blue shadows, even bleak Blubberhouses looked beautiful ! Called at Embsey Crafts but nothing very inspiring, just got some ribbon and flowers and a few more copics.

Joy card -open

Inside the Joy card, the papers are from Book 4, Trees, by Crafty Individuals and they are so pretty.

Joy - flower

This photo is a bit blurry but I wanted to show the flower, its from the Poppy collage sheet by Elusive Images, its very "glimmery" in real life but that doesn't show on here unfortunately.

Black & White

Saw that the challenge on Tuesday Taggers is for Black & White, this is one of my favourite colour combinations so thought I would give it a go. The Stamp is B.Line Couture, the sentiment Butterfly Kisses. The papers are from the Claire Curd collection from last year or maybe even the year before ? it was such a huge pack and even though a friend and I split the pack between us I don't think I am ever going to use all the papers, they never seem to get any less . I think some of them may have to go in the next "craft cull" , any surplus I can bear to part with goes either to the village school or Brownies/Beavers or the Youth club here in the village, they always seem happy to get any crafting supplies , I cannot bring myself to throw anything away so I,m happy if its going to a good home and will get used.

Vintage ?

Thought I'd have a play at doing a vintage card, I used to do quite a lot but seemed to lose the knack of it ,the papers are all bits out of my scrap box so were already "distressed" for me,the stamps are Innovative StampCreations. This was my take on a sketch on yet another blog that I am going to go and look for now.

Lemon & Lime

While I was blog hopping last night I saw a challenge for Lemon & Lime, optional flowers/spring,
thought it would be a change from Christmas cards so I made this, now just have to find the site again ! The stamp is Aspects of Design by Kay Carley from the Stampman. The flower is made with the stamps I got as blog candy from Joanne, they are so useful .

Another Christmas Card !!!

The Winter Wonderland challenge for this week is to use the colours Lime, Cinnamon and Berry,I did not intend doing a Christmas card for it but somehow I did end up doing this one ! I wish I had not put the red heart button on it as in really jarrs with the other colours but it didn't look too bad until I photographed it ! I wish I could get my scanner sorted out its so much easier!

First post of the year 2010

Got this Cornish Heritage Farms stamp last year but haven't had a chance to play with it until now,I had lots of ideas for it but just managed to make three cards and a lot of mess in here ! My scanners are still not working, I am going to have to get someone to have a look at see whats wrong, I've done everything I could find in the troubleshooting guide and still no go ! I,m sure its something to do with having downloaded Picassa,I have unistalled it now but the scanners still won't go, its got to be something on the computer, not the actual scanners as they both stopped working at the same time ! Even on the photos the colours still don't come out right, the centre music strip is pink!
