Marine

This week at Cardz4guyz the challenge is to make a Shaker card, must admit I nearly chickened out of this one as I hate making fiddly things , then I remembered this embossing folder which came with a Cardmakers Collection set and I really like it but hadn't got round to using it .  The papers and sequins are from the same collection, the ship is from Stampin Up Open Seas set and I dyed another bit of that mesh/net stuff . Hope you will join us in our challenge this week.

More Marine

THis week at Cardz4guyz the challenge calls for a shaker card, Well I nearly chickened out of this one as I really hate making fiddly things but then I thought about this embossing folder which came in a Cardmakers collection pack and although I really like it I hadn't got round to using it. I seem to be in a Marine theme roll at the moment so used papers and sequins from the same pack, ship from Stampin Up Open Sea Set and did a bit of that netting/mesh stuff. Hope you will join us this week in our challenge.

A little CAS

This week at Cardz4guyz, Sharon has chosen the theme of CAS (clean and simple) for this weeks challenge.  I'm not normally a CAS stamper but I have been finding myself quite drawn to this recently although I do find it difficult, for one , I'm too messy and for another I can't resist adding just one thing and then another and so on, however I have managed to restrain myself on this one.  Blue and sand from memento ink pads wiped on with a baby wipe and the Sand Pipers stamped in Rich Cocoa memento ink as is the sentiment.  It was not without its problems though, first piece I stamped I lost completely and still haven't found it ! second  one I stamped the sentiment upside down, got there at the third try!  Hope to see your entries on our challenge this week, just remember they must be suitable for a man or boy.

Joy

I should know by now that it's almost impossible to get a decent picture of an almost white card but this is about the best I can do.  The little dots that look like dirty marks are actually glitter, don't know why it looks like it does.  I have used Darice snowflake embossing folder used twice to make a frame, Penny Black adornment wreath stamp and the centre stamp was a free PB stamp from a magazine.I think the Merry Christmas die cut is from Clearly Besotted.  I'd like to enter my card into Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Challenge and Christmas Card Challenges - anything goes

At The Movies

This week at Cardz4guyz it is my turn to choose the challenge and I have chosen "At The Movies"
For my card I have used mostly Graphic 45 images, the striped paper is from my stash.  When I chose the theme I had something entirely different in mind but then I could not find the images I wanted and finally remembered I had used them for something else ages ago duh! I do need to use up some of my G45 stuff, I have hoarded it and stroked it. now they have reissued some of the original papers and I still haven't used the first lot.   Hope to see your entries with cards for the men in your life.

messing with paints

Still missing Mr Mojo, I have a feeling he's left for good this time ,certaining taking a long holiday. I did spend a couple of hours playing about with a mini brayer and Paper Artsy paints, the results don't look anything like Leandra's but I was reasonable happy with them. I stamped the flowers directly onto it but then found that everything I tried to colour them with just sunk into the paint so ended up restamping them and fussy cutting them. Still looked boring so added some embossing paste through a couple of stencils. I will probably add a sentiment later. The second one was done with the other half of the paper and the other flowers from the set

I'd like to enter my card into Fashionable Stamping - Beautiful Blooms

Roll Over Beethoven

This week at Cardz4guyz the challenge is Music.  Well I think I'm spoilt for choice with music stamps and so I've messed about for ages, first of all made a rock'n'roll card. not happy with that, binned it, then I played about with a collage stamp by Butterfly Kisses, only to realise one of my teamies had used it for hers, back to the drawing board and found another Ludwig collage stamp, no idea of the make as its in my box of stamps I took off the wooden blocks, could be Hampton Art ? the music background and the diamond text background are both Justrite stamps, I've just sorted all my Justrite stamps into a file on their own, might remember to use them more now. Cut the treble Clef from the other collage stamp and the old classic saying is a freebie from Creative Stamping. When I was fussy cutting Beethoven it struck me his hair looked a bit like Noel Edmunds (Oh dear !) now this will be the Noel Edmunds stamp LOL.  Hope you will join us this week with your cards for the men in your life.

Splash

Browsing through my Crafty Individual stamps earlier this week I came across this one which I haven't used for some time, I had mostly used it to make ATCs before so thought I'd try it on a card.
The background is from my ever growing stack of inky and painty paints of paper, this time its acrylic paints, doodled round the edges ( not very well!). I stamped the girls on another piece from the stack, loved that it just worked out that it looked like splashing water, and added the stamped sentiment (Technique Tuesday) the sequins were a freebie and were just the right colours. I'd like to enter my card into

Man's best friend

Bought these Hobby Art stamps a while ago but not got round to using them and now I don't really know what to do with them ,think they may end up in the "unloved" drawer  although I do rather like this miserable looking one !  I thought I would enter this into Fantasy Stampers - Man's Best Friend challenge and Critters and Creatures Challenge  - anything goes with a critter or creature

Father's Day

Challenge 123 at Cardz4guyz and the theme , chosen  by Helen, is Father's Day.  It's a long time since I lost my Dad so it's not something I would normally make so I made a general type masculine card where I could alter the sentiment if I decide to.  Its a long time since I made a triple stamp card and my layers are not perfect but it was a change to do and gave me a chance to use my new stamps again. I did get the idea from Pinterest (what did we do before we could look on there for inspiration )
Hope to see your entries on our challenge this week.

Feature A Creature

This month at Stamping Sensations our challenge is Feature a Creature.  I had been to Port Sunlight show at the beginning of May and had bought this lovely stamp from Indigo Blu, having got it home I was at a bit of a loss to know what to do with it as its quite a solid stamp, after playing about a bit I decided to stamp it onto one of my inky backgrounds , then I coloured some  texture paste with distress ink and stencilled some little flowers. Added the little butterfly and flowers and a die cut..

We are sponsored this month by Be Creative who are offering a selection of their products as this months prize.

We are a stamping challenge and the focal point of your card must be stamped.Look forward toseeing your entries.

Sea Dreams

My lovely Sister sent me some new stamps last week and amongst them were the Open Sea set from Stampin Up, as I'm always saying, I love anything nautical so couldn't wait to play with them. Found some papers from a card makers magazine and stamped a collage piece of the smaller stamps which I then proceeded to cover up with the main image ! Stamping done with Rich Cocoa Memento ink. The anchor die came with the same magazine.  I tried taking a photo instead of my usual scanning but its taken me forever to get it onto my blog !  I really need a new computer but I have no idea what to get and I dread having to work out different ways of doing things, I'm a dinosaur with technolgy.
I'd like to enter the following challenges

That's Crafty - Under or by the sea

Scrap-Creations - Masculine
and

Shopping Our Stash - 4 Elements - mine is water

More Christmas

This week at Sparkles Christmas Challenge, Mary is asking us to use two dies ( or more).  I started off intending to just use 2 dies but ended up using four. Most unusual for me there is no stamping except the greeting.  We are sponsored this month by LC Design who are offering a prize of three digi stamps.
