Make it feminine

The new challenge at Try it On Tuesday is "Make It Feminine" I have made a couple of collage pages for my Kraft Journal and taken the opportunity to use some of my old wood stamps. The backgrounds are from a very old sewing pattern instructions.  I don't work directly into my journals but make seperate pages to add to them and also I don't really know why I call them journals as I very rarely write in them!  The design team have some great samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit and join in our challenge

In The Garden

It's time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time the challenge theme is "In The Garden"

For my DT piece I've done another page for my  7x7 journal, inked and stamped background and then bits and pieces from my stash of saved " junk"  the main picture is from some Liz Earl packaging, the flower pictures and word were salvaged from my neighbour's recyling box and were from flower delivery packing which she received every month( lucky lady!)no idea where the watering can bit came from. I had spent the afternoon altering a pair of trousers for my husband so while the machine was out I finished the page of with some stitching.

The design team have lots of lovely inspiration for you over on the challenge blog a I hope you will pay them a visit and join in our challenge.

More Journal pages

I’ve been saving mop up kitchen roll paper for a long time, often think the mop up looks better than the piece I’m working on, however I decided it was time to use some of it. Each piece has three layers so I get three almost identical piece from each piece of paper towel, I used two pieces as the base for two pages of my journal but then ended up almost covering them up by the time I had finished decorating the pages. The pink and green bits round the edges are all that can be seen of it๐Ÿ˜€

Bugs, bees and butterflies

The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday starts today and this time we are asking you to use book papers for your entry project. We welcome all kinds of creative crafts including cards, tags, atcs ,journal pages and anything as long as it follows the challenge subject.

I've gone for a journal page this time using a page from a very ancient Pears Encylopedia, it ws published in 1932 so at 92 years old is the same age as my husband LOL. The pages are nicely aged and surpisingly quite strong for their age, the actual book is falling to pieces so I've finally decided I can bear to pull it apart although I do find myself distracted actually reading the pages instead of getting on with it.

Hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the lovely samples from the design team.

So today it's time for a new challenge at  Try It On Tuesday this time we want to see your Fantasy creations, we welcome all kinds of art including cards, mixed media, journal pages, ATC's etc, we just ask that the challenge theme.

For my card I have gone for an Alice In Wonderland theme, one of my very favourite books ever from being very young and I've never tired of it.  I thought the white rabbit who's always late would make a suitable belated birthday card. I've used stamps, topper and papers from an old magazine kit with the addition of the large pocket watch stamp from a very old stamp.

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Rainbow colours, well I like nothing better than splashing a bit of colour around. I white embossed the big background stamp (Hero Arts) and then played about with brusho powders and lots of water until I had the effect I wanted and all the colours of a rainbow, then it just needed the little Happy Birthday (computer generated) and the pretty butterfly, another old Hero arts wood stamp.    The design team have lots of inspiration for you over on the challenge site and would love you to pay them a visit.

Rudolph Day

I had thought that the Rudolph Christmas card challenge had finished when I saw a post that Maureen was having to give it up but I obviously missed the bit that Helen was taking over, many thanks to Kath for putting me right,  At the moment I am in the process of making twenty of this card for a neighbour who liked it when I sent her one last Christmas.  I don't normally make Christmas cards for other people but in a weak moment said yes, I'm about halfway through up to now and will be glad when they are finished !  Its a very simple card to make using the lovely Woodware stamp, gold embossed and coloured with water colour paints.

The new challenge at Try it on tuesday is to use a stencil. For my card I have used texture paste through a stencil onto a background made using some old Glimmer mist sprays unfortunately the glimmer shine doesn't show on here !  I cut the two butterflies from a piece of vellum paper to add a bit of interest.  The design team have some lovely samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit
