Inspired by a song

 Our new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is to be Inspired By A Song.  All kinds of medium are welcome, journal pages, cards, atcs etc as long as they follow the theme of the challenge,  For my card I have chosen Pretty Woman sung by Roy Orbison, I think it's my husbands favourite film as he seems to have watched it no end of times .  For my card I have used one of Tim Holtz Runway girls on a background using another old Tim Holtz stamp.  The design team have some lovely inspiration for you over on the challenge blog and would love you to pay them a visit.

Rainbow colours

 The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Rainbow colours, well I like nothing better than splashing a bit of colour around. I white embossed the big background stamp (Hero Arts) and then played about with brusho powders and lots of water until I had the effect I wanted and all the colours of a rainbow, then it just needed the little Happy Birthday (computer generated) and the pretty butterfly, another old Hero arts wood stamp.    The design team have lots of inspiration for you over on the challenge site and would love you to pay them a visit.

Rudolph Day

 I had thought that the Rudolph Christmas card challenge had finished when I saw a post that Maureen was having to give it up but I obviously missed the bit that Helen was taking over, many thanks to Kath for putting me right,  At the moment I am in the process of making twenty of this card for a neighbour who liked it when I sent her one last Christmas.  I don't normally make Christmas cards for other people but in a weak moment said yes, I'm about halfway through up to now and will be glad when they are finished !  Its a very simple card to make using the lovely Woodware stamp, gold embossed and coloured with water colour paints.

Use a stencil

 The new challenge at Try it on tuesday is to use a stencil.For my card I have used texture paste through a stencil onto a background made using some old Glimmer mist sprays unfortunately the glimmer shine doesn't show on here !  I cut the two butterflies from a piece of vellum paper to add a bit of interest.  The design team have some lovely samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit

 Time again for the new challenge at Try It On Tuesday, this time we are asking for your Spring projects. we welcome all kinds of  art as long as it follows the challenge theme.  For my DT piece I have made a Z fold card, sorry for the wonky photo as I found it quite hard to get a decent one, I usually scan my cards but had to try and get a photo on my iPad.  The stamps and papers I've used were all free with a magazine last year and I've used them quite a lot.   The design team have some lovely samples for you over on the challenge blog so I do hope you will pay them a visit.

In the spotlight

 

The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday this time is a technique called Spotlight which is to only apply colour to part of an image, in other words spotlight that area, there are lots of tutorials etc on Youtube etc if you need any inspiration plus our design team all have great samples over on the challenge blog.  For my card I used a stamp that was free with a magazine, coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and an old Hobby arts stamp for the wording. Hope you will join us in this challenge.

Hearts and/or flowers

 It's time again for the new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and the challenge this time asks for Hearts and/or flowers.  I've used both on my anniversary card, the background is a Stampin up embossing folder, the flower stamp is an old Paper artsy I think, the little hearts are a un named brand from Amazon and the little heart buttons are from my button collection.  Any kind of medium is welcome but it must follow the challenge theme.  The design team have lots of inspiration for you over on the challenge blog and I hope you will pay them a visit and join in the challenge.

Happy Birthday

 I'm on a bit of a mission to make more use of my embossing folders so I dug out this very old cuttlebug one and made a Birthday card for one of our adult grandsons.  all the stamps are also old stash, think they are Apple Blossom from Craft Stash? which I stamped and fussy cut.

I've had a really hard time linking my card to all three sites, never had a problem before but nearly gave up in despair!

Add some Text

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is to Add Some Text, lots of inspiration over on the challenge site so hope you will visit and then join in.  My card is a mix 0f stencilling and stamping, I spent more time deciding on which text stamp to use than actually making the card, I have lots of text stamps and don't use them nearly enough. The background stamp and the butterflies are Crafty Individual stamps and the text stamp is Inkylicious .

Winter B;ues

 

The 1st challenge of the year at Try It On Tuesday is " Winter Blues"   , the design team have some great inspiration for you over on the challenge site so I hope you will pay them a visit.  I had forgotten to do my DT sample until last minute and had already packed away most of my Christmas papers and stamps however managed to find enough bits and pieces to make this card.  The theme" Winter Blues "does not have to be Christmas ,as long as the challenge theme is followed any genre of craft is welcome.
