Bird In A Box

Nearly lost the will to live trying to do this post!  Had a struggle to try and get anything like decent photo, my card reader decided not to play until I flung it down on the desk in a temper, then when I finally came to do this post most of the photos have disappeared, oh the joys of technology!!!!

I did actually really enjoy making the card in a box, its a kind of addiction, make one and you're hooked, one of the photos lost showed the side view and all the stamping on the sides, just have to guess its there..Bird cages, nest and wording stamp all from the free birdsong set with Creative stamping, the three different size wrens are Inkilicious stamps, papers from stash.

Birdsong

Had a friend over today for a bit of crafting, don't get a lot done as we spend too much time chattering!  Made a card each in the morning and in the afternoon started on making a card in box each, didn't get them finished but just have to add  the "innards" !   The background paper is a piece from the Wallflower pad and the bird is stamped on some paper from a pad called Portabella road which I found in TK Max , has some lovely papers in it.Most of the stamps I've used are from the free Birdsong collection with Creative Stamping magazine, the feathers are from Clearly Besotted.

Boys birthday

My husband is not in the least interested in the cards I make but he spotted some KennyK toppers one day when we were visiting Embsay Crafts and decided I should buy some and make cards for the kids (great grandchildren) with them so dutifully I did!  They are rather cute with their big feet though.  Thought this one would be ideal for Cardz4guyz challenge.

EDIT. Thanks for comments  but I  can't take the credit for the colouring, they are ready coloured toppers!

Hello!

There seem to be lots of male oriented challenges around right now with Fathers Day fast approaching, I need lots of men cards for our family so I'm always happy to make another one although I should be on with the girly ones right now as most of the June and July birthdays coming up are on the feminine side. I bought this Crafty Individual stamp at Port Sunlight in March and not done anything with it, simply stamped it with blue archival ink and added a bit of French industrial paper and a couple of pieces of some old graphic45paper. The hello stamp on the tag is from an old hero arts set which I've had for years, seems large word stamps are quite popular now so I've been digging out old box sets, I'm a compulsive hoarder and NEVER throw anything away hehehe !

Harvest Mouse

Every now and again I come across an old stamp and wonder what I could do with it, this stamp must be going on for twenty years old, know it was one of my first buys, found it among the box of old stamps I dismounted from their wood blocks a while ago.  Know its a bit early for harvest but it made me nostalgic for the old corn fields full of poppies and cornflowers, I know the flowers on here are daisies but took a bit of artistic license and made them into cornflowers.  Still not got much mojo going , spent (wasted!) yesterday afternoon playing with stencils and embossing pastes etc with not a lot of success , my main mistake was using inky papers to emboss on and when the pastes dried they had picked up all the ink colours, don't know how people get such fantastic results, time to research techniques instead of just jumping in (story of my life !!!!)

clockwork

Fathers Day this month so lots of masculine cards about, sorrowfully I don't have my Dad anymore or my Father In law so not a card I need to make, however as I always need lots of male themed cards I'm quite happy making male cards, in fact, unlike a lot of people, I enjoy making them.Having said that this didn't quite work out how I wanted it to as I wanted to incorporate more stamped clocks/watches but try as I might they didn't want to fit in.  Two DPs from the papermania chronology pad, Justrite stamp and the stamp in the middle of the watch is a freebie from somewhere, quite like the saying on it.

Vintage Seaside

Spent the last three days gardening and I can hardly move now, got aches in muscles I didn't even know I had! Have to make the most of the weather, three sunny days in a row ! Bit of masking with these Crafty Individuals stamps and used the memory box wave stencil for the sea,all coloured with DI's.. Shells are paperclay. Background paper is stamped in versamark (artistic outpost shells) and coloured with pan pastels.
