Use Yellow

Made this get well card for a neighbour who has had major surgery and will be hospitalised for quite a long time.  I think the flower stamp is Carabelle Studio, the butterflies were already stamped in my bits and pieces box so just had to add some colour, I thought I would have a blue poppy for a change.
I'd like to enter my card into Allsorts Challenge which is to use yellow.

March Rudolph Day

Nearly forgot about Rudolph Day for March, don't know where the time is flying to!  I made a quick card using some Cardio stamps and a couple of die cut deer, there is quite a bit of sparkle on it with Diamond dust and red Stickles on the berries.

Say it with flowers

Time again for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it is "Say it with flowers"
For my card I have inked a piece of card with distress inks in yellow and blue which seem to be my favourite colours at the moment. Lightly stamped the back ground with an old Tim Holtz stamp, stamped and coloured the Tim Holtz flowers, decided they looked a bit dull so stamped again on to a piece of scrap card, coloured and cut out and added them over the original stamped flowers. The design team have some great inspiration for you over at the challenge blog so hope you will visit them.

Over the rainbow

Time for a some mid month inspiration over at Stamping Sensations where theme is Over The Rainbow inspired by the colours or the song.  For my card I have used the colours of the rainbow by sponging stripes of distress oxide inks and then spritzing them so the colours merged.  The zebras were stamped separately and fussy cut ( those skinny legs were a challenge!) I have previously tried masking or bleaching them but never very successfully. The stamps are all Inkylicious.  There is still plenty of time to join in the challenge but please make sure your entry has stamping as the focal point.

March Hares

Been a horrible day here, heavy rain most of the day and never seemed to get light properly so had a look through a few challenges and saw a couple I'd like to enter.  I have had these Hobby Art stamps for a long time and the smaller one had never been used so I made a couple of cards with them
First one for Cardz4galz challenge which is March Hare or Rabbit.. Made the background with yellow and blue distress inks and a couple of Inkylicious stamps. I do like Mr Hare ,he looks rather surprised !

The second one is for Sparkles Monthly challenge which is a Stamped Background, more Inkylicious stamps for the background

Born to stand out

Had a day out at the Stamparama show in Harrogate a couple of weeks ago they had obviously totally under estimated the number of people attending and the venue was far too small resulting in it being so crowded I felt it was quite unsafe ! If I hadn't arranged to meet a friend I might well have left as quite a lot of people were doing however it did quieten down after lunch and I managed to get round most of the stands.  I had tried to get this giraffe stamp by Pink Ink Designs for a while but it was always out of stock so I was happy to find in there, I really wanted a lot more of their stamps but had to resist as I was almost spent up! It's a really big stamp so needs an 8" card which I didn't have so found some A3 card stock and cut my own. Coloured him with water colour pencils, the leaves etc are all from the same stamp set. I had bought the quote also at the show and it seemed just right for this card. ( I see on facebook that Stamperama have booked a much bigger hall for November so got that down in my diary )

Colour My World

This time the challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "Inspired by a word" For my page I chose the word COLOUR, most things I like are colourful so I have added some of my favourite things to this page.
I started by dabbing red, blue and yellow acrylic paint randomly over the page, let it dry and did some random stamping. The poppies, butterflies and flower heads are all from a serviette. I had intended die cutting the word but the dies were too small so drew them, cut them out and coloured them, quite like the wobbly effect.  The design team have some great inspiration over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit.

(apologies for late post, put the wrong date in the scheduling and couldn't work out how to alter it!)

Somewhere Over The Rainbow....

This month at Stamping Sensations challenge the theme is Over The Rainbow,  we want to see your STAMPED entries showing the colours of the rainbow ( Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo and violet)

For my card I have used a piece of watercolour card and after wetting the paper applied bands of  all seven colours across it, letting the colours blend into each other. Stamped and fussy cut the three Hero Arts butterflies out of another piece of watercolour paper treated in the same way. The Three flowers are Woodware stamps and were stamped onto a piece of cards randomly splodged (technical term!) with acrylic paint and then fussy cut. The wording stamp was free with a magazine last year.
There are some lovely cards by the design team over on the challenge blog so hope you will pop over  and have a look

Vintage Christmas

Time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and for my choice this month I have chosen Vintage Christmas.  For my card I have used this old fashioned Father Christmas which I got from the internet a long time ago and I have always loved it, layered it up on some old Christmas papers from my stash.
