No challenges this week !

Having a little break from blogging as we are going away for a few days. Woke up this morning to lots of nasty white stuff outside- more snow ! My brother and husband are going to the Boat and Caravan show at NEC Birmingham so we decided we would make a little holiday of it. I just saw the Hobbycraft sewing and craft show is on at the NEC and I thought I could escape to that while they look at boats but then saw that it is Trade only, boo hoo ! even if I could sneak in it would be even more frustrating not to be able to buy anything ! Back soon.

Mariposa papers

Finally brought myself to use some of the Mariposa papers to make this card for our Daughter who loves anything with butterflys. The vellum butterflys are nestability die cuts.
The butterfly image came from antiqueimages

Satsuma/Chocolate & Gold !

Winter Wonderland challenge this week is Satsuma/chocolate and gold, although that sounds Christmassy it didn't seem like the colours shouted Christmas at me! Found this tag in my box of bits and pieces already coloured etc so the card grew around it !

Girls

Theme Thursday this week is Girls, lots of choice there! I had enjoyed making the hanging yesterday and using an old photo so thought I would go with it again today and make a 4x4 using this old photo, the lovely little girl is my older sister but I don't know who the other girl is, I think this photo would have been taken about 1940 When I made the hanger I used some old colourbox cats eyes which are too dried up to stamp with anymore and my stippling brushes,I had almost forgotten about doing that as got so used to doing backgrounds with distress inks.its very relaxing just tapping away with the brush! Background stamps ,old favourites ,Field of Sky and Old French Writing, flowers and quotation ISC

Snowman tag

I wasn't going to do a card for Bah!Humbug! this week as I seem to be getting too many Christmas cards too early! I over made cards last year and have a lots left from then. Knowing what I'm like it will get to October/November and I'll suddenly decide I don't like the cards I,ve already made and make a load more! I have been making tags for various other things and so I suddenly thought I could just do a tag instead, it will probably end up on a card eventually or could just be a gift tag. I'm a bit disappointed with the scan as in real life its quite glittery and that doesn't show up. If you click to enlarge the image you can see some of the glitter !

Time Hanger

This is my entry for Tuesday Taggers which is TIME this week. I started out to make a card but ended up making a hanger instead. I made the background and then started to look for an image, decided to have a look through my little suitcase full of old photos (wasted a good hour in there !) This is a photo of my Father and two Aunts, on the back it says 1922 but that would mean my Dad being 12 years old and he certainly doesn't look that on this photo so think it must be a bit earlier than that.

Cute!

I seem to have lost all inspiration at the moment, have had several days when everything I tried to do ended up in the bin and I think this should probably have joined them ! I actually do have a few cute stamps even though I say I don't do cute, most of them are Penny Black Hedgehogs or sheep. Don't know why I continued to struggle on with this tag but having done it I am going to post it to Tag Tuesday and move on !

Theme Thursday challenge this week is flowers. I did not set out to make anything like this card but it just sort of evolved ! think the Valentine weekend must have got to me but I really liked it in the end. The image was in my stash and the papers are from the Papermania capsule collection, The stamped sentiment is from an old Stampin up set.

Round easel card

Thought I'd have a go at making a different shape easel card, I saw a round one on debbie dolphins blog which I really liked, so drew round a cd three times and made this, The papers are My Minds Eye and the stamp is a Sarah Kay belonging to a friend.

baby's first Christmas

The Winter Wonderland challenge this week is for Baby's first Christmas. My first reaction was no!
I don't go a bundle on baby stuff but then I found this image of a grumpy looking baby which really appealed to me, it looks a bit like I was feeling ! So here is my card. I think the image was on Art Freebies but I will have to go back and find it as I forgot to make a note.

Tag Tuesday

The theme for Tag Tuesday is Monogram, I chose this letter N to go on my Nature tag. The bird is from Birds Of A Feather plate from Artistic Outpost and the DP is some old Kay and Company of which I seem to have an awful lot !

Pink & Black

A very simple atc for Theme Thursday "Pink & Black" image is from Trinkets&Treasures, wording from a Hampton Arts stamp. I thought pink and black would be an easy one but struggled to make anything . My next task is to try and work out how to do links to other blogs etc, I try to give credits when I use freebies but I would like to be able to put in a link.As I am a bit of a technophobic it takes me longer than most to find out how to work things!

A touch of red

First Play with my new Artistic Outpost stamps,I am loving them ! I am totally in awe of the fantastic work shown on their site, it gives me inspiration but also makes me very aware of my own shortcomings, but hey! I am enjoying trying. This is my "Touch of Red" tag for Tag Tuesday.

Candy Canes

Winter Wonderland challenge this week is candy canes /or red&white. Thought it would have to be red and white but while searching for some red & white striped paper I found this paper with candy canes on it, think it came in the goody bag from Embsey Crafts, then I remembered that along time ago my sister sent me a lovely Christmas card with a penguin and candy canes and because I liked it so much she sent me the stamp and a bag of candy canes ! after much digging and delving I found both and here is my card

Baubles

Bah! Humbug! challenge this week is Baubles.
I have had these bauble stamp images for ages, don't know who's stamp it was or when I did them, they were in my box of Christmas bits and pieces, coloured it with Blonde Moments pigments, its lovely and shiny and looks a lot nicer than it does on here, background is cuttlebug embossed.
