a man among boys

A very late post for Tuesday Taggers challenge which is for masculine theme. Finally got to play with the cogs die, utee and distress inks and Artistic outpost steampunk stamps. Just got back from a lovely afternoon in Grassington, a very enjoyable (and huge !) cream tea in Cobblestone Cottage Cafe and exploring the interesting little shops and a very scenic drive home over Greenhow and through Pately Bridge. Very little traffic for a bank holiday although lots of people in Grassington. Nearly forgot to add that this weeks challenge is being sponsored by the Craft Barn who are offering a gift voucher!

Whiter shade of pale

Tag challenge for Tag Your It this week is a Whiter Shade Of Pale ( and yes I have been humming the tune ! ) Quite difficult to do an all white one, just inked the edges with sage green and the wording is stamped in black. The gorgeous butterfly is a new die from Marianne, its beautiful but I don't know if I will use it much as having the pick all the bits out of the die with a pin is not my cup of tea ! The butterfly is cut out of glitter paper and is very shimmery in real life, pity it doesn't show on here but never mind eh !

Formula 1 ?

Well when I saw the challenge at ReadySteadyStamp I had to wonder if I could do it,what I know about formula one and car racing could be written on a postage stamp!
I did have this stamp with a "vintage" racing car that I bought some time ago out of a bargain bin and the card evolved round it. background page from an old road map book, brooklands programmes downloaded from Google. Old touring map, driving licence and petrol coupons from my "hoard" of junk, scanned and resized.Journaling had to be typed as I could not fit it on if I wrote it, the car is embossed with utee.
Not been doing much crafting for the last couple of weeks, I have my sister here on a visit from California and we have been out and about.

Sentimental Sunday

Sentimental Sunday challenge this week is for New beginnings, although this sentiment is for a brand new ending think the actual meaning is the same (if that makes any sense at all !!!! ) Tim Holtz stamp and flourish from new alterations die.

Tuesday Taggers

Tuesday Taggers is having their 1st birthday this week and the theme is cake! chocolate and cream or coffee and cream ( can't remember which without going back and looking now !) Here is my tag with yummy cupcakes, they are glittered which doesn't really show on here. The colours look paler than they really are too !.

Key to my heart

A quick tag for Tag Your It, a bit late for the challenge but better late than never!
I have been away for a few days ,visiting Wales with family. Its the first time I have spent any time in Wales and we have really enjoyed it. We spent most of our time in and around the Snowdonia national park and its very beautiful, we were very lucky with the weather, sun most of the time although it was very cold, we had rain today on our way home but even then it stopped long enough for us to visit Chirk Castle on our way past. Now its back to reality and the pile of laundry waiting for me! I just had to get back in here and make something, miss my crafting when I am away !

Tag Tuesday Tickets

Tag Tuesday challenge over at KardKrazy is to have a ticket/tickets on your tag. This is an old stamp by rubber stampede I think, coloured with promarkers and a few stickles added for champagne bubbles and of course the Tim Holtz ticket.

April atcs

After full house last month quite a few swappers missing this month, however here are the lovely selection received. There will be NO SWAP for May as both of us have holidays and I also have family visiting so not much time. So you have until the end of June to send your next atcs. The alphabet swap has got to H and as it will be summer ( hope so !) the alternative is floral.

Love butterflies so enjoyed making this tag.

Steampunk

I was desperate to get these Artistic Outpost stamps when they came out and then when I did get them wasn't sure what to do with them (nothing new for me ! )I have not had time to do many challenges this week and although its a bit late I am entering this for Theme Thursday challenge which is Black and White, (Mon) Looks like the link is not working on Theme Thursday, either my entry will finally appear half a dozen times or not at all !

New Friends !

Not done much blogging this week as I have been so busy and then I went and got sick too ! Yesterday some beautiful stamps arrived in the post, totally unexpected and a lovely surprise ! Even though its very late I just had to try and make something with them. The background is stamped, cuttlebugged, gessoed ,distressed, crumpled etc most of which doesn't show up on here ! the main image is stamped, masked and coloured with distress inks. The main image is from Artistic Journey, the cogs etc are Paper Artsy. Not made this for anything in particular but really enjoyed making it.
