More Bits And Bobs

Another card made with the bits in last years Christmas card making box. The topper and poinsettia were already made ,just added the DP. I remember when I made this topper thinking I would not be doing many as it took for ages to paperpiece the tree.  We are going away for a few days from tomorrow so I am hoping to come back with some inspiration, we are back on Friday just in time for me to go to Port Sunlight on Saturday, so hopefully will come back from there fired up and ready to go!

Bits and bobs

Seems my blog has been well and truly neglected lately, mostly because that Mr Mojo has taken off on vacation yet again!  I seem to have spent all this last week just gazing blankly at all the enormous stash of stamps etc that I have and not been able to think of a single thing to do with them.Last night I came across a box containing all the bits and pieces left over from making last years Christmas cards and challenged myself to make a card with some of the bits. Everything on the card except the pieces of DP came from the box and there is a lot more stuff in there !

Resisting!

This is the third time I've tried to do this post, hopefully will work this time !  Fashionable Stamping challenge this time is for resist techniques which is something I do use a lot, I've used two different types on this card, the two backgrounds pieces are stamped with versamark and coloured with pan pastels, one of my favourite ways of doing backgrounds as its so quick and easy, the centre panel is also stamped with versamark and embossed in white, then coloured with distress inks. Also entering the card on Try It On Tuesday which is make your own flowers, I'm not a big fan of very dimensional flowers although they look lovely it usually means having to make a box for the card with the added expense of the extra postage (well I am Yorkshire born and bred !) These are just stamped and die cut with the button centres added. Also entering it int0 Vintage Stamping challenge which is anything from your garden -flowers and seed packet and Creative Inspirations - anything goes, I have used their sketch.

Another ICAD swap

Folder of ICAD from Alison  - must point out that the ribbon was tied so much better when it arrived, I have undone it and retied it several times and tying bows is not my strong point !

This is the inside of the folder, love the bookpages used
and this is the ICAD that was inside

Love this ICAD and folder and feel very lucky to have had two such lovely swaps, thanks again to
Elly and Alison  and to Astrid for organising it.

Serengeti

Well I've dug deep into the old stamps with this one, I had completely forgotten I have a drawer full of Judikins cube stamps which were all the rage about 10 years ago, most of them are dated 2002/3 ! I was looking for something to" make a scene"  with for Make my Monday and when I came across them I realised that the Serengeti cube would also fit for the Craft Barn Alpha/dictionary challenge letter Z. Background coloured with distress inks and a bit of masking and its another page for my Fat Book.

Time Traveller

I was lucky enough to be a winner on Crafts-Too challenge and as well as receiving a lovely parcel of crafting goodies I was asked if I would like to do a guest designer spot.

The challenge this month is texture and it's something I do like to use on my cards. On this piece I have used two embossing folders ,an embossed die cut watch, frantage embossing powder, torn card, glossy accents on the goggles and my favourite bit is the piece of inky kitchen towel which was left from mopping up inks on an earlier project.

The twist this month is to choose your own style, I don't seem to have a particular style, whatever takes my fancy at the time , shabby chic, vintage, collage and I do love steampunk !

Vintage lady

Well another week almost over and no crafting done! I've been busy outside as we are having a new driveway and it's meant having to move a lot of plants etc, was hoping it was going to be finished today but everything stopped due to the heavy rain, typical after all the beautiful weather we have had. Found this Hero stamp and die set in a sale bin at well under half price ,do like a bargain ! also got some Wendy Vechi stamps and Brenda Walton dies also at under half price ,haven't had chance to play with them yet.

ICAD

Holder and envelope

Inside the holder
Beautiful ICAD

This the fabulous ICAD and holder I received from Elly in the swap organised by Astrid. I was above thrilled when this arrived, the pictures don't do it justice although you can see some of the beautiful shimmer on the middle picture, it arrived in a lovely decorated envelope, wrapped in tissue ,tied with twine and a lovely little tag attached.  I'm just hoping the people I'm swapping with aren't expecting something as fabulous as this ! Have a look at Elly's blog to see the other ones she made for the swap The holder is made from painted fabric.
