Butterflies

Its been far too hot for me this last week so I'm glad its cooled down a bit today. Can't believe another week has flown by without me posting something on my blog. I haven't been very productive due to lethargy or laziness in other words caused by the heat but have made a few things which I can't blog at the moment.  I saw that Make my Monday challenge is for butterflies and I do love to use them on cards so thought I'd have a play tonight, this is nothing like what I started out to do but that's often the case with me. Piece of  DP from the wallflower pad and stamps from Stampers anonymous, spellbinders lattice die and that's it, I'll probably add a sentiment when I decide where its going.

Here's looking at you kid

I had just spent best part of an hour putting a post on my blog only to find that blogger has just gone and lost the whole caboodle!  I don't understand how it can all just disappear like that, it was definitely on my blog and I had linked it to challenge and the Pooffff ,there it was gone!
I've lost the will to start and do the whole post again so I'll just link this to the challenge and see if this one stays here

Butterflies and lace

I'm trying to use up some of my Graphic45 papers which I have been hoarding for ever, time to let go , G45 are reissuing some of their older collections, well  I still have lots of the original ones ! The ones I've used here are not too old, mostly Ladies Diary. The butterfly stamp is a Kaisercraft  pne, stamped and paper pieced. I originally started this card for Alphabet challenge but it seems to fit a few others too.

Alphabet  challenge - L is for Lace
Butterfly spot challenge - spots and stripes plus butterfly
Simon Says stamp - spots and dots
In the Pink - get well/thinking of you

Seashore

I've got caught up with my charity card making marathon, they are selling , a bit slower than I had hoped but plenty of time. The staff at the hairdressers where I sell them have changed and they are mostly a lot younger than the previous stylists but really nice girls , I'm told they all love the vintage cards I put in there, they are the ones I thought least likely to sell, you never can tell ! Anyhow on the vintage theme here's a fun card I made last night .Image and postcard are Graphic 45 and background paper is Crafty Individuals as is the wording stamp. I'm entering this on Cards For Guys, don't see
why the fellows can't have some  bright colours and a Bathing Belle , I'd have no problem sending this to a man to cheer him up !

Carte Postal

I've been very quiet on here for a while but I have been busy, collecting together cards for sale for this years charity for a group I belong to in our village. This years charity is for the new cancer unit at our local hospital, something close to my heart as this year we lost a close family member to cancer and he was unable to have treatment at our local hospital and had to travel twenty miles to another town, thanks to our local hospice and the wonderful Macmillan nurses he was able to spend his last weeks at home but everything would have been so much better if the new unit had been open.  The last time I sold cards for a charity I managed to sell over a hundred cards so I am hoping to do the same this time. While I love making cards I hate the nitty gritty things like putting in inserts and finding envelopes and cello bags etc, seemed to take me for ever to do that.

Anyhow took time for a play today and made a couple of cards for challenges, this one is for
Make My Monday - mail art

Inkylicious stamp and papers from the wallflower collection.
My second card is for

Try It On Tuesday - Summer colours

I seem to be having a bit of thing for orange at the moment, not a colour I normally use much and I don't like orange flowers in my garden either! however I had fun making the background for this card with Stampin Up gorgeous grunge stamps, the main flower is a Hero arts

Retro flower

Wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with this skinny stamp but it just shouted 1970's to me so it had to be orange !  I did try to the water colour technique with random splodges of water colour but it looked awful so ended up just going for painting with distress inks, background is dusted with distress inks as well. Its ages since I made a DL size card but I have made another one since only in landscape orientation, just a change from the six inch squares I seem to always use. Hope it firs a few challenges

ABC challenge - O is for orange
Vintage Stamping- summer blooms
Fashionable stamping - flowers
