Just messing !

I'm finding it really hard to get motivated to do anything these days, I've faffed about all day and achieved ziltch. Tonight I had been messing about with some Dylusions sprays that I had pushed to the back of the cupboard and forgotten about. I embossed one piece with a butterfly folder that came free with a magazine some time ago, added a stamped and die cut butterfly (stampin up) a few buttons and some twine and a little birthday wish. I'd like to enter these challenges

Rudolph Day

Whoops nearly missed Rudolph Day this month, forgot it was a 30 day month.  Made this card with bits and pieces from last years Making Cards magazine, I get drawn into buying it every year and I now have four or five years hardly used.  So better get it into the challenge quick before I miss the deadline

This week at Cardz4guyz it was my turn to choose the challenge theme and I have chosen "Wood". This can be anything , wood effect papers,embossing folders or stamps, lots of choices. For my card I have used Stampin up hardwood stamp, stamped in grey onto blue cardstock. The little wooden rowing boat is Stampin Up Moon Lake and the wading birds are Stampin Up Wet Lands. Beautiful Day

Another Beautiful day here, three in a row !  although we are forecast for cold weather over the weekend.  My poor blog has been very neglected over the last couple of weeks, firstly I had a bit of a brainstorm and decided it would be a good idea to paint this room, big mistake, it took forever and I still haven't got everything sorted out and found homes for, one thing is certain I have far too much stash but even after a bit of a clear out I'm still struggling , several boxes still on the floor and on the sofa, I'm determined to try and get it sorted over the next couple of days.  

Also while the weather has been so good managed to get some jobs done outside, tubs and pots emptied and cleaned ready for new plants, OH has cut the lawn and I've done a lot of weeding.

Anyhow to get round to my card, managed to get my hands on Altenew Beautiful Day stamps, I had watched a video on using them so dug out my stamp press and had a go, not at all successful ! so I just decided to forget the stamp press and "eyeball" the stamps , once I'd found the pointy petal if was relatively easy to line them up. The butterflies are Stampin Up Watercolour wings which are also three layers stamps.  Need to try the flowers in different colours next time. I'd like to enter these challenges

Bookworm

Panic card today as I realised I hadn't made my DT card for CardzforGuys this week. Quick trawl of the internet and I found this cute bookworm, stamped PB Happy Birthday as the book title , a very ancient piece of DP and some green card, one of the quickest cards I've ever made and I love it, makes me smile !  Hope you will join us this week in our challenge which was chosen by Jan who has asked for Books / book paper. Your entry must be suitable for a male of any age.

Challenge 115 at Cardz4guyz this week has been chosen by Jane who has chosen the theme of food and/or drink. This gave me the chance to use my Woodware stamp for only the second time, I used the acrylic block stamping technique for the background and minimal colouring with distress inks. Black and White

For my card I have used Stampin Up Timeless Talk Gramaphone and speech bubble and a memory box die cut, DP is a piece of old papermania.  I bought a pack of 100 sheets of these Papermania papers years ago and despite using a lot and giving a lot away still seem to have quite a bit of it left !

One for the girls

This month at Stamping Sensations the challenge is One For The Girls. For my card I have used a favourite Crafty Individuals Stamp and some papers from Dovecraft Sweet Paris paperpad. Creative expressions delicate fronds die and a lace flower from my stash.

Woops ! got this card from a friend for my birthday last year and now its almost time for my birthday again and I don't think I've ever used it, slap on the wrist time  Stamp is Penny Black, papers from box of free papers from magazines and the die is a Creative Expressions, I was a bit confused with this die until I worked out you need to use all three pieces to cut it out! I'd like to enter these challenges

For my card I have used Stampin Up Work of Art for the background and lovely as a tree fir tree,the sentiment is a freebie stamp which I really like.  Can't say I've ever made a CAS Christmas card before as I like vintage or traditional cards but I'm quite pleased with this one and I may make some more of it.
