Monster Hugs

This week at Cardz4guyz, the challenge, chosen by Amy, is Tag it.  I used to make loads of tags but haven't made any for ages so it made a nice change. For my tag I've used a piece of inky card from my pile of  backgrounds, tag is mounted onto another piece which I also used to stamp the  ? well they look like mines ,don't quite know what they are, just on the same Paper Artsy set of monsters. I've had these stamps since last May and this is the first time I've used them, Computer generated the sentiment.  Hope you will join us in this weeks challenge.

Blue snowman

Just realised late this afternoon that I had better get a move on if I wanted to enter Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Challenge this month, where did February go ?  This card is made mostly with bits and pieces from ONE of my Christmas bits and pieces boxes, this year I really must use up some of this stuff or throw it out ( in my dreams ha ha ha ) Anyhow the LOV snowman was already stamped ,coloured and on a stitched square, the inky blue piece is left over from a master card, the stamped sentiment was also in one of the boxes. The die cut trees and snowflakes were also ready cut in my Christmas die cut box, however I did emboss the  falling snow background piece and use a card blank, so I'd also like to take this to Pixies playground as I hope some of the bits can be classed as snippets ?

Funky flowers and birds

I didn't get round to posting this card which I made a couple of weeks ago, thought I would enter it into Make My Monday challenge which is birds. The stamps are Hobby Arts, coloured with water colour paints

Butterflies and Bees

I haven't been posting much to my blog recently although I have been busy making cards haven't been able to post them as they are for future DT challenges.  I treated myself to a couple of new Stampin Up sets recently and can't stop playing with them !  This card is made with Touches Of Texture set , apart from the flowers there lots of  accent stamps, love the speckles and the beautiful lace border stamp and the sweet little bee.  I made this card for The Butterfly Spot Challenge which is to use the colour Slate Blue and/or Glossy Accents.  I was going to use glossy accents on the bees wings but settled for wink of stella instead.

Sea It's Your Birthday

At Cardz4guyz this week the challenge has been chosen by Jane and is "Underwater"  I was going to use my beautiful mermaid stamp but then decided maybe it wasn't masculine enough, so instead I used a Kaisercraft stamp for the seaweed etc, embossed with verdigree EP, a littlestamped seahorse and various sea theme dies, a few sequins for bubbles and a bit of old net stuff.  Pop over and have a look at the lovely samples from the design team and then I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. Just a reminder your card needs to be for a guy.

You're a classic

This week at Cardz4guys, the challenge ,chosen by Julie, is no patterned paper, pop along to the challenge blog and see the lovely samples made by the design team.  For my card I have used an Artistic Outpost stamp from the diesel Punk set, the classic sentiment is Visible image and the birthday greeting is a freebie , must say do get some really nice wording stamps with some of the free sets, The strip down the side is actually silver mirri card put though an embossing folder, can never get a decent picture of silver or gold shiny card. This is the card I made for my husband's birthday last week, think he liked it.  Hope to see you joining in our challenge this week with a card for a guy in your life.

Just messing

Been feeling that it's maybe time to give up on this crafting lark !  Since Christmas I have really had no inspiration whatsoever and other that making cards for the  design teams I'm on I don't seem to be able to rouse any enthusiasm to do anything.  I have a friend who is always saying she has no inspiration either and THEN she goes and posts on facebook a whole raft of super cards ( You know who you are !!! ) Well she had used a sheet of painted paper she had made at a class so I decided maybe I could take some inspiration from her so I made two A4 sheets of card using brusho paints and then cut them up and made a batch of cards with them, nothing wonderful but at least it got me doing something instead of staring vacantly at my stamps and doing ziltch. So here's a couple of pics of them

It's been awhile since I played with the brushos, think I'm a bit heavy handed with them and maybe should leave some white areas but had fun.

Love

This week at Cardz4guyz our challenge ,chosen by Caz, is "Love You"  Well I'm not much into Valentines etc, my OH would wonder what on earth was happening if I gave him a Valentine card and I've only ever had one from him, which I found out later, my daughter had got it for free and given it to him, so romantic LOL.   I have had this die of the cats for quite a long time and the embossing folder was free with a craft mag last month, the love die is an old freebie die too and the small hearts are a punch I've had for years, Well I'm sure you can all come up with something a lot more romantic than me for the Guy in your life

This month at Stamping Sensations the challenge is "Animal Magic"  As we have a Grandsons second birthday this week I made this card for him.  I think the stamp is Penny Black, I already had the stamped image in a file, cut out with stitched square. Added Die cut balloons and the stamped parcel is from Crazy dogs stamp set.  Hope to see you on our challenge this month but do remember that the main image of your card must be stamped if you are to be in with a chance of winning this months fabulous prize donated by Tattered Lace

Quick cards

Spotted Country view Crafts challenge is for cards that take 30 minutes or less, well normally it takes me for ever to make even one card but I do have a favourite way of doing a quick card when called for. Using one of my favourite background techniques, inking with acrylic block, used Salty Ocean,Peacock feathers and Cracked pistachio, spritzed and stamped the block, dried with heatgun stamped Woodware Large Fennel and a freebie Happy Birthday stamp, mounted on a piece of black card and then onto the card blank.Added a few small gems and done.( I had intended maybe adding a small butterfly but by the time I had found a stamp or die would probably gone over the thirty mins.)

Countryview Challenges - Under Thirty Minutes

over at Addicted to stamps the challenge is to make your mark

and at Less is more the challenge is to use Three Adjacent colours

Krafty Christmas

This month at Sparkles Christmas , Jane has chosen the challenge to use Kraft card. For my card I thought I try the faux parchment look , Its the first time I've tried this technique and  it didn't work quite as well as I had hoped. I think  I need to get some new ink dusters, even though I tried really hard to get one clean it has still added a greeny tinge to the colourbox white ink.  Stencil from Inkylicious and stamps are freebies from a magazine.  Hope you will join us this month.
