Family Women

Meandering Book !

Posted by Picasa
This post is in a horrible muddle as I can't get the photos to stay where I put them . Its called a meandering book and thats just what its done, meandered all over the place!  The top photo is the book opened and the third one down is the book closed, I couldn't post it at  all with blogger as it would only let me post one photo.  The lilac in the background is not part of the book, just something I used to take the photos on.  The Gingersnaps Chestnut Challenge theme for Granny's Photo Album gave me the idea for this project. Often in the family tree the woman are not focused on as much as the men as they don't carry on the family name so I thought I would make a little book about them. I am fortunate to have photographs of them all back to my great, great, great Grandmother who was born in 1786, her youngest son was one of the early photographers. I was never lucky enough to know either of my Grandmothers unfortunately. One Grandmother and a Great,Great Grandmother were dressmakers so I like to think thats where my love of  sewing /haberdashery stuff comes from(not that I do any actual sewing these days!)

  9. Joan.......LOVE IT, LOVEIT, LOVE IT What a fantastic idea!!! I might have to pinch it ! These will be a fantastic keepsake for ever in your family. Your right , the women never took centre stage, but were usually the cornerstone of the family.
Can't wait to see what you do with the Pan Pastels. Have heard so much about them but haven't got a clue really what they do!! I will watch this space as theysay.
    Love Carol xx
