Beside The Sea

One of those days ! This morning I decided I wasn't going to do any housework etc but I would have a day just making cards, well what have I produced ? one card for our son-in-laws birthday and the above card which is not one of my finest ! I had already coloured the seaside scene a while ago using pastel pencils( another forgotten thing until someone reminded me we had them !) makes for quick colouring ,just a few lines of colour and smudged with fingers. Used some papers from a C.I pad,the lady is from Oxford Impressions and the shells are made with paper clay.

Poppies in corn

Made this card last night after a struggle to get motivated to do anything, we had spent all day in the garden cutting the hawthorn hedge ,well OH cutting and me doing the very prickly job of clearing it all up! have to make the most of the sunshine the last couple of days, rain clouds rolling over again tonight, and its been the longest day so nights will start closing in again soon! Corn (I know its called grasses but it looks like Barley corn to me !) stamped with versamark and background coloured with pan pastels. Poppies stamped and then stamped again and 3d'd ,same with butterfly(another stamp I came across which had never seen ink, think I got it free with a magazine sub)The wording is from a Stampman A4 sheet which I bought just because it has some lovely nature verses on it.

Hats or handbags ?

Beenusing some more of the pretty papers from the Scrapcake pad, almost used the first pad but I did go and buy another one as I liked them so much. The lady and the wording stamps are two old Butterfly Kisses stamps, for some reason I have always done the lady in black and white before and I am so surprised at how much nicer she looks in colour .

Charlie's birthday card

Just a little card I made for Great Grandson's birthday tomorrow, he will be 3 years old.
Everything I have used on this card has come free from magazines except the birthday embossing folder. I am trying to use some of this freebie stuff instead of just piling it up. A lot of the papers from magazines are pretty horrible but I have had some really nice ones too , I did make another one with the free stamps  using the little girl instead but don't know if I remembered to scan it before sending it. Just putting it on the Little Red Wagon challenge - boys birthday

I would also like to say hello to my new followers, thank you for joining me .

Believe ?

I didn't think I would be doing Fashionable stamping's challenge this time as the theme of Mysterious or magical sort of eluded me, couldn't think of any stamps to use as I don't normally do fantasy stuff, I dug out what few stamps I could think of and nothing inspired me. Yesterday, looking through a pile of unmounted stamp sets I saw the Oxford Impressions Fairy Sweet set and shame on me, I have never used this gorgeous little fairy before. The background came from a pile of inky bits and pieces so I have no idea what I used on it, probably some glimmer mists as it is quite sparkly. The stamped bit of paper at the bottom I used a freebie stamp from a magazine. The bit of lace was in the bits and pieces box and the heart and wording are from another Oxford Impressions set.Now I have got these sets out think I may be using them quite a bit again.

Fabric transfer

After moping and whinging around all day, complaining about the weather, lack of mojo etc etc when it was time to start making dinner I decided to have a play with TAP transfer paper I got from Crafty Individuals at Port Sunlight, well dinner was very late as I was just so blown away by the transfer process, so so simple and fantastic results. This C.I girl was scanned and printed onto the TAP and the transferred onto a bit of old white sheeting, I can't get over the details of it. Now please don't look too closely at the stitching ! my sewing machine has to live upstairs and I didn't want to go to the bother of getting it down so thought I would use a little craft one that was in the cupboard down here, well it would have been so much quicker to get the proper one out andmaybe I could have sewed some straight lines too. The background is stamped with versamark and coloured with Pan Pastels, then overstamped with sepia versafine and stencilled with that bit of mesh again and some sequin waste.  I'm putting this on a few challenges

Enjoy The Ride

Tried to post this last night but blogger was not playing again, anyone else having problems ?  Background paper is a piece from a Debbi Moore magazine, balloon and compass stamps are Indigo Blu and the wording is from Darkroom Door and Close to my Heart.  I tried embossing the clock die with distress emboss powders but didn't work too well and then I remembered I bought some Fran-tage
shabby white embossing enamel at the Harrogate show back in March and it hadn't even been opened, ooh I love it, will certainly be getting used now!  While I was trying to colour the piece of mesh which is under the balloon I realised it makes a fab stencil which I then used down the left hand side. Old postage stamp and a bit of string, lots of distressing etc. The base card is Kraft although not a lot of it on show.  Several challenges this week for masculine cards so here goes

The Stampman  - Make it For A Man
Frilly and Funkie - Kraft and twine
Simon Says Stamp And Show - Texture
Cards For Men - Masculine ( Fathers Day but as my Dad died 14 years ago I haven't added the word Dad)

Jubilee Poster

My neighbours have festooned their house with flags for the Jubilee but I've been a bit more restrained and just made this A4 sized poster to hang in my window. Free papers from a magazine and picture from the internet.  Can't believe how cold it is today, I wanted to do some gardening but too chilly ! Think I must have missed all the Jubilee challenges but found one  here

To Dye For

Thought I would make a tag for Dragons dream Tag It On, haven't made a tag for while. This is the first time I have used the Dylusion sprays and are they bright! All the background stamps are Seven Gypsies and just a bit of stencilling through sequin waste to try and calm it down a bit. The tag is dry embossed and the bird cage is embossed with gold and green enamel magic. The challenge is to use a die cut/spray inks and embossing.
