messing about

Having spent hours the last four days struggling with BT over my almost non existant broadband speed I've just about lost the will to live ! finally they have said they will send an engineer on Thursday but if its inside the house I have to pay £99 ! I'm pretty sure its the outside line but fingers crossed! To crown it all Mr Mojo has hopped off on vacation yet again, I spent a few hours last night just sloshing about with inks etc and this is one of the bits which I've made a fat book page with, lots more to play with when I get round to it. Think it fits a couple of challenges

Just because...

Made this card for no particular reason other than I wanted to try out the stamp, I think she is so pretty, chintzy paper from some freebies, floral oval nestie and Joy dies for the flowers.

Blue

Another new stamp to play with, gift from a friend for my birthday. I know they are poppies but somehow I just wanted them to be blue so I'm saying they are Himalayan poppies, which are blue(now I'm not sure if that's spelt right?) Background is blue and lilac pans, poppies coloured with water colour pencils. I spent ages looking for a quote but nothing seemed appropriate until I came across this old ,well used and loved Hero stamp which I have had for ever.  I have been so used to using 6" square cards that I am struggling a bit with these 5x7 rectangles but some of my new stamps are really too big for the square cards and as I have a considerable stash of different sizes of card blanks its time I started to use some of them up. Quite a simple card but it's such a lovely stamp I didn't want to detract from it.

Wacky or Wot ?

Time for The Craft Barn challenge again and this time it's the letter W with the added twist of circles in the background.  Chose my word "Wacky" and then found it wasn't in the old dictionary that I tear up so had to sacn the definition from my "big" dictionary and what fun that was ! ended up wrapping a towel round the scanner as I couldn't close the lid enough, anyhow it worked eventually. No plan, no rhyme or reason to this, just sprayed with dylusions, I did use a roller stamp with circles on the background but seem to have covered a lot of them up, three "wacky" stamps, the definition reads
odd, eccentric or crazy, well can't get much crazier than dressing up as a clock can you? I'm so enjoying doing these pages and seeing what everyone else comes up.

More dressmaking

Think I might have gone a bit overload with this card but I have enjoyed making it! The button card is another new Red Lead stamp, loving these stamps. The background is Grandmas attic from Justrite stamps. You would not believe the mess I have made in making just one card and I have it all to put away before I go to bed, it must be so nice to have a proper craftroom and be able to shut the door on it all!  Think this fits a few challenges

Dressmaking trimmings

More playing with new stamps, loving these Red Lead Design stamps, again gifts from my Sister, very easy to use as little colouring needed,  the lady fitted nicely on fleur de lys rectangle and I used some of my Ladies Diary papers which I have been hoarding. Didn't make it for anything in  particular just because I wanted to.

April In Paris

I had been wanting this stamp for ages and it arrived, along with a lot of others, for my birthday last Monday ,a present from my lovely Sister in California, I was over the moon with all the stamps and also a spellbinders die that I had also had my eye on, then today my friend arrived with three more stamps for me, again all ones I have been "needing". We had a nice day playing with some of the stamps, so spoilt for choice I couldn't decide which to use, just like a kid in a sweetie shop. I made this card with Frilly and Funkie challenge in mind but it will also fit Pan Pastel challenge of a stamped image. All the papers are coloured with pan pastels, the background piece is stamped with a S.Up blossom stamp, flowers coloured with pro markers. The matching ribbon was tied round my parcel from my Sister and couldn't have been a better match.

Far Out !

I've had another play at being messy and inky, this time with dylusion inks, some stencil paste and a bit of frantage embosiing enamel which is supposed to be taupe but think it needed stirring up as it seemst be just gold. The girl and don't mess stamp are Lyndsey Mason stamps that I got for Christmas and have not got round to using before. This is for Fashionable Stamping challenge which is for Art Journalling and also Make It Monday -make your own background.

Since I last posted I have yet another birthday ,they seem to come round faster and faster but  I'm just grateful I'm still here for another one!  Had a lovely day with flowers and presents and lots more stamps !

Rhymes

I was undecided whether to post this page as it didn't quite work out as I had hoped and also its the first time I've written on a page and like most people I'm never very happy with my hand writing. However I've told myself that stressing over stuff is not what its all about so just get on with it! for  a change I made my background with acrylic paints and then stamped and stencilled it before stamping the main images. I could not believe that among the hundreds of stamps I have there was not a single one with a bell on so I drew some which looked  nothing like bells , in the middle of the night I remembered I probably had some old peel offs, they were too big but I used the negative bits to give a rough shape which I drew round again. Don't know who made the stamps as they are all unmounted singles.
