In The Forest

Not had very much time for crafting recently, today I've been busy stripping wallpaper today but tonight I've been watching Hobby Arts on catch up Hochanda while making this card, I'm glad it was catch up I was watching as the stamps were sold out on the live shows or I might have been very tempted.  My card is stamped with Stampin Up lovely as a tree pine tree, die cut birch trees I can't remember what make, memory box deer, bird and star and lots of glitter. snow done with Posca pen.  I'd like to enter my card into Mo's Rudolph Day challenge

More Nautical

THis week at Cardz4guyz the challenge is ti make a shaker card, I nearly chickened out on this one as I really don't like making "fiddly" stuff but then I remembered this embossing folder which came with Cardmakers collection magazine . The papers and sequins came from the same set, the ship is from Stampin Up Open Sea set, I dyed some more of the meshy/net stuff and added a compass stamp to finish off.  Hope you will join us in our challenge this week with a card for a guy in your life.

Under The Sea

More playing with this lovely mermaid and ages spent colouring her tail with luna lights paints, very therapeutic and relaxing ! I wish there was some way to show the lovely shimmer of the background made with luna light paints mixed to make sprays. Other than her tail she is coloured with Karisma pencils which I've had for years, no longer made unfortunately. Bit of stencilling and dotty stamping and a few pearls. I've no idea what the mesh stuff is at the bottom, found a big roll of it in an old first aid box and knew it would come in for something.Shells and starfish are made with paperclay.
I'd like to enter a couple of challenges

Under the sea

I could not resist this mermaid stamp when my sister showed me the one she had just got, I think she is just beautiful !  I spent for ever colouring her tail using two colours of luna light paints, I hope the shimmer shows up.  The background is also very shimmery but it looks a bit flat on here although I did use three different blue /aqua sprays. The seaweed at the bottom is part of a very ancient stamp and then I just added some Marine Frantage and a few sequins.  I'd like to enter this into a few challenges

In The Country

This week at  Cardz4guyz, Caz has chosen the challenge theme of " In The Country".  I'm always tempted by Hobby Art and Card-io style build a scene stamps but then they just sit there in the box unused, however I finally managed to use these stamps from The Old Barn Set, together with a few from other sets. It was not without its difficulties though, I had to draw an extra fence post and wire and the track across the field, I  was sure I had a grey fine liner pen but ended up using a black one which does stand out a bit. However in the end I was reasonable happy with my efforts, need more practice is something I seem to say about everything I do.  Hope you can join us in our challenge but don't forget it has to be suitable for a guy.

Steampunk Dress ?

Time for another challenge at Stamping Sensations. This month we are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons with this lovely prize

This month at Stamping Sensations the challenge is to use a stamp and ribbon.  For my card I have used  background papers from Be Creative and a Tim Holtz die cut doily. The dress stamp is a Kanban one and the stamping on the oval is Tim Holtz Paris stamp. The Birthday stamps are Stampin Up.  This card is for an adult Granddaughter who went through a punk/goth  stage in her late teens /early twenties, not a pretty look !  so I thought I would make a "pretty" card with this stamp that I had used for her before as a very steampunk card,   Look forward to seeing your entries to our challenge, don't for get we are a stamping challenge so must see stamps used as the main focus .

More messing about

Can't seem to settle to doing anything I should be doing and I've just been playing about with some more new stamps. I just got these enormous (A5 size) background stamps made by Do Crafts and also at an amazingly cheap price, trouble is that once again I'm finding it difficult to put anything on top of the background as I like it just as it is. I stamped the whole A5 stamp in black and clear embossed it, then coloured it with a wet wipe and memento cats eye ink pads, certainly the quickest blending technique I've ever used. Cut the stamped piece into three parts and used two of the pieces on this card, I can use the other third on another card hopefully. I saw these stamps and the technique on a You Tube by Scrapbooking Made Easy, the lady drives me up the wall and the video goes on for ever bu she does do some great techniques etc!  I'd like to enter my card into a couple of challenges

Just because.....

Last night I found some more of the papers I had made with Paper Artsy paints a couple of weeks ago (here),  I was reluctant to cover them up as I was so happy with them so I tried to make something that let them show through.  I really need a lot more practice as this sort of thing but I had fun making it, I didn't water down the gesso enough so its left odd patches of white but I'll know better next time .The trees and the sentiment are stamped on tissue paper and adhered with gel medium. The couple and the dog were stamped and fussy cut, I love that little dog, its so cute. Trees and couple are Crafty Individuals and the wording is a very old Rubber Stampede wood stamp.I'd like to enter this into these challenges

Snowflakes

This month there is a lovely prize of Three embossing folders kindly supplied by Sandra

This month at Sparkles Christmas challenge Pat has chosen the theme of Snowflakes.
I've gone for a mostly white on white card with just a few hints of blue. The sentiment is Stampendous, embossing folder is by Darice and the snowflakes are Creative Expressions, I coloured the mat with the same Encore ink I had used for stamping the sentiment. Love that colour, don't know if they make Encore inks anymore, must check ?
