Rudolph Day

Just making it at last minute into Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Challenge.  We have been visiting the Scottish Borders with our daughter and son-in-law and my blog has been sadly neglected while we were away.  I purposely didn't take I Pad or laptop so could have a break from it all and I have to say didn't miss it at all.

For this card everything has come out of the Christmas bits and pieces box, the winter cabin was already stamped and coloured onto a circle die cut and there was already a blue circle and the die cut frame. The background is a piece of watercolour paper already painted blue. A five minute card which I really like and think I will make more of.

She's Got The Look

The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "She's Got The Look".  For my card this time I have used an old Stamps Happen stamp called Paris Socialite, the background is a piece of printed tissue paper over a piece of pink card, finished off with a strip of washi tape. I fiddled about with various bits of embellishments but in the end I thought she makes enough of a statement on her own.  Hope to see you joining in our challenge

Destinations

There's a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday today and the theme is Destinations.  I couldn't make my mind up what to do but eventually settled on this Penny Black stamp called Venetian Summer. and coloured it with Polychromos pencils. The background paper came from the scrap box, the weekend piece is a clothing tag and I have no idea what the two at the top are, they were in the drawer where I keep all sorts of bits and pieces that I might use one day. I have collected clothing tags for years, even made my husband buy a shirt that I knew he would never wear because it had a bunch of grungy type tags on it,needless to say I haven't used the tags either !  Do pop by the challenge blog and see the great pieces made by the team and then I hope you will join in our challenge.tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.co.uk

Just for fun

A few more cards to add to my charity box sales, this is some of the second batch of these I've made, the first ones were gone before they got chance to get to the charity box!  I joined a new little group in our village last night, its called a craft group and everyone takes something they are working on, I was the only card maker there , mostly knitting and sewing BUT it was such a lovely chatty meeting I don't think anybody actually did much!  We have a lovely room attached to the church and right by the river, our lady vicar thinks it is not used enough for socialising and it was her idea to start it up,we get to use the room free of charge and free tea/coffee and biscuits, whats not to like !

I'd like to enter my first card into the Watercooler  Wednesday Challenge - All about occasions

and
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything goes with option of using favourite PB Stamps  I don't usually have a favourite stamp as I love all my stamps but at the moment these are my most used PB stamps
and
Penny Black And More - anything goes

Close To Nature

This month at Stamping Sensations the challenge is Close To Nature.  Please remember we are a Stamping Challenge and the Stamping must be the main part of your entry, small stamped sentiment or added butterfly will not see your entry considered for the prize.  We are sponsored this month by Chocolate Baroque who are offering a lovely prize  for the winner

For my Close to nature cards I have gone with butterflies and flowers ( and a little bee) The top card uses stamps by Imagination crafts, the background is a small sprig stamp from the set stamped randomly over the paper, was a bit fiddly colouring all those little flowers and leaves but I did like the finished effect.  My second card is ,of course, the ever popular garden flower stamp from Stampers Anonymous. Both cards water coloured using distress ink pads.  Hope you will join us in our challenge .

Stencils/Die Cuts

New challenge at Try It On Tuesday today is Stencils/Die Cuts or both.  For my piece I have used  stencil and die cut, background is a mixture of paints and inks, texture paste through stencil and once dry replaced the stencil and coloured the flowers with Distress Oxide inks. The butterfly was in the bits and pieces box along with several others, seems I can never just make one of anything which is why I end up with so much clutter. I am always telling myself to use up some of this stuff but as fast as I use some, more appears !  Do visit Try It On Tuesday challenge and see what the design team have been up to.

Reindeer

This month at Christmas Sparkles ,Lynne has chosen Reindeer for our challenge.  I have used topper and papers from an old Making cards magazine for my card.  The merry christmas is a very old rub on and I'm amazed they still work.  Hope to see you joining our challenge this month.
