June Rudolph Day

After another scorching hot day it seemed a bit strange to be making a snowy scene for this months card for Maureen's Rudolph Day challenge.  A few years ago I made a lot of cards using this stamp but with a snowman at the front so this time I thought I'd ring the changes and add the deer looking towards the star.  Half way through the year already don't know where the time goes.  Tonight I thought I'd try out the new sprinkler to water the lawn but got it in the wrong place and got water all over the conservatory windows which had just been cleaned this afternoon, after I got myself wet through trying to move it I realised it would have been a better idea to turn it off first, think the heat has fried my brain !

Things With Wings

Time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time the theme is Things With Wings. I couldn't decide what to use , Birds, Bees, Butterflies ? but in the end I went for something totally different with these fairies.  All the stamps used are by Inkylicious and stamped onto a piece of inky paper, there is glitter on the fairies wings and some fairy dust sprinkled around which doesn't show up on here.  This card will go in my "family box" and eventually go to one of the little Great Grand Daughters.  The Design Team have some fabulous inspirational pieces over on the challenge blog so hope you will pop over and take a look.

Birthday Cake(s)

This is a cute Penny Black stamp I was lucky enough to win from an Allsorts challenge a few weeks ago. Simple card with very little colouring needed and just added a few sequins and a stamped birthday greeting. I've spent longer looking for some cake inspired wording than making the actual card, I know I have some cup cake stamps somewhere but haven't been able to find them, too much stuff !  I'd like to enter my card into Allsorts Challenge - Sweet Treats

Wings Of Time

There is still time to enter our challenge at Stamping Sensensations, there is a great prize waiting for one lucky winner.  As always, we are a stamping challenge and MUST see stamping as the main focus of your entry. For my card I have used the feather stamp from Visible Image Angels Are Near set. Stamped with Izink purple ink and embossed with iridescent glitter,very sparkly which doesn't show up on here. the wording is an old Clarity stamp.

I thought I would enter Fashionable Stamping challenge which is "Seaside", it gave me a chance to get out some older stamps and have  play with them.  The Top card is all Crafty Individual stamps while the second one is a very old Stamps Happen stamp, they made such beautiful stamps I was very sad when they went out of production.

One For The Boys

 Time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time we would like to see "One For The Boys"   so we are hoping to see your makes for the men/boys in your life.  Now I normally enjoy making masculine cards but this time nothing I tried went right, in the end I decided to abandon any fancy stuff and go fairly simple. The Balloon and compass stamps are from Indigo Blu and the wording stamp is a free one from Creative Stamping magazine.  Hope to see you joining in our challenge.

I made this card for our five year old great grandson's birthday last month, he loved it and also loved the enclosed cash with which he said he could buy lots and lots of things, bless him .The stamps are

some Woodware ones I got a couple of years ago and I think it's only the second time they have seen ink. I'd like to enter my card into the Male Room Challenge which is For Little Boys

I think I have a new "favourite" stamp !  I have always been a bit wary of the brush stroke style of stamps but after someone sent me a little card using Penny Black Spontaneous Joy stamp I just had to have the stamp.  I did watch a video on the PB site on using this stamp and although I didn't have the colours or some of the items used it was very informative , so this is my first attempt with it and I am just so happy with it !  It really looks like a water colour painting, no lines !  I have done a few more in different colours but this is my first and favourite  I'd like to enter my card into a couple of challenges

Anything Goes

Wow ! its time for the June challenge at Stamping Sensations, where does the time go ? This month its an Anything goes Theme but do remember we are a stamping challenge and your entry MUST have stamping as the focal point, this doesn't mean a small stamped sentiment or a last minute added small butterfly!  I have gone quite clean and simple this month but I think this stamp needs little adding. In retrospect I wouldn't have added the enamel gems , in real life they are an exact match for the colour of the butterfly.  I recently bought quite a lot of the IZINK dye ink pads and I just love them, the colours are beautiful.  I have used the purple and turquoise directly onto the stamp,spritzed with water and stamped onto water colour paper, I loved how it turned out, the two mounts were inked with the same colours so everything matched.

Jolly Old Santa

This month at Sparkles Christmas it is Mary's choice and she has asked to see your project featuring Santa.  My card is made with a topper from a magazine, mounted onto a piece of green card.  The wording is done with Rub Ons.  Hope you will join us in our challenge this month.
