Quick cards

Spotted Country view Crafts challenge is for cards that take 30 minutes or less, well normally it takes me for ever to make even one card but I do have a favourite way of doing a quick card when called for. Using one of my favourite background techniques, inking with acrylic block, used Salty Ocean,Peacock feathers and Cracked pistachio, spritzed and stamped the block, dried with heatgun stamped Woodware Large Fennel and a freebie Happy Birthday stamp, mounted on a piece of black card and then onto the card blank.Added a few small gems and done.( I had intended maybe adding a small butterfly but by the time I had found a stamp or die would probably gone over the thirty mins.)

Krafty Christmas

This month at Sparkles Christmas , Jane has chosen the challenge to use Kraft card. For my card I thought I try the faux parchment look , Its the first time I've tried this technique and  it didn't work quite as well as I had hoped. I think  I need to get some new ink dusters, even though I tried really hard to get one clean it has still added a greeny tinge to the colourbox white ink.  Stencil from Inkylicious and stamps are freebies from a magazine.  Hope you will join us this month.

Bearing Gifts

This week at Cardz4guyz , the challenge is something beginning with C.  I spent some time trying to think of something original and decided on Caravan, didn't have any stamps but I did find a Camper Van stamp, spent ages messing about with it tried paper piecing it, colouring it but it just looked boring. went onto Google and looked for caravan images and among the images up popped this fun Camel ! couldn't resist it !  coloured with pro markers cut out and popped onto a bit of paper from my scrap box.  Thought I would probably not want to send it to anyone but then maybe one of the teenager grandsons with their gift voucher inside it ?  going in the Christmas card box anyway. Yeah ! its Rudolph Day Again

I was so happy with this card when I finished it but I am so disappointed at how it looks on here !  It is actually gold and blue but I can't get it to look gold  whatever I do.  Last Christmas my Sister sent me a beautiful card made with these stamps and dies in red and gold, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them, , there are six dies and two sheets of stamps in the sets , I love the star swirl and all the wording stamps too. I was happy to see that Mo is doing the Rudolph Day challenge again , I'm hoping to keep up with it every month this year.  I was thinking this card will be a good one to do batches of and maybe I will get round to using my Misti to do the batch stamping.

Time Flies

This week at Cardz4guyz, the challenge, chosen by Cyndi , is "Shaped Cards"  For my card I have used my Hexagon dies to create a card base and layers. The collage style stamp is from Woodware and I have had it quite a while but this is its first inking.  I'm a bit unhappy with how it looks on here as it is actually cream and black and the watch,clock face and top bird and on white card,cut out and 3D'd on. THis is a scan but photos I took also looked the same and since I got Windows10 (which I hate !) it takes me forever to load and edit a photo. Anyhow hope to see you joining is with our challenge this month , must be for a guy of any age !

Something Blue

Last week we got a new Great Grandson, haven't met him yet but hopefully we will get to see him next week, seen the photos and he looks gorgeous.  This is the card I made for the happy parents, very simple but both of them like the minimal look in their home so hope they will like this. My friend gave me some pram die cuts last year, this is the last of the blue ones, several pink ones left but we seem to be a family of boys, I'll have to beg some more off  her when I see her ! I would like to enter this into these challenges

Something New

This oh so cute cat stamp was a Christmas present from a friend and they just cry out for a valentine or anniversary card.  I'm still struggling with that elusive mojo so whatever I make at the moment tends to be quite CAS, not sure if this is a bit too CAS but I decided I liked it as it is.  The stamp is from Katzelcraft? ,spellbinders opulent oval die and a stitched oval die and a strip of Washi tape across the bottom.  Now washi tape is something else I seem to buy and not use and I was a bit shocked when I realised just how much I have, need to get using it.  I'd like to enter this into a couple of challenges

Triple mat technique

This weeks challenge at Cardz4guyz is for Triple Mat Technique cards, chosen by Cyndi. It's a while since i did this technique, can't think why as I really like it.  The hardest part was deciding which stamps to use, I had made one only to find another DT member had pipped me to the post using very similar stamps, teach me to always be last minute with my makes.  I then decided on this stamp which is a huge one, too big for an acrylic block, just fits on a B plate for the Big shot. Having said that, I normally lay it on its back on my work mat and lay the card stock on top, get a good impression that way, I had to stick my layers together with a repositionable glue to do it but it worked anyhow. Coloured very quickly using baby wipes and mememto ink pads. Hope you will join us this week with a card for a guy in your life

Still in the post Christmas doldrums, don't seem to have a creative idea in my head and a distinct lack of interest in doing anything but eat and sleep.  I have had these Indigo Blu cats for ages and think I have only used them once before, apart from the cuteness of the cats I love the wording, so true !

Birthday Card

This week at Cardz4guyz  Caz has chosen Happy Birthday for the challenges third birthday.. For my card I have used some Stampin Up stamps which were a Christmas present from my Sister. Love these stamps,especially the sun rays, can see lots of uses for it , I have stamped it round the edge of my card mat and I think it looks like fireworks.  Hope to see you joining in with our challenge this week

V is for Violet

Alphabet challenge this time is V for violet, yes I do know that this is not a violet but I've chosen to use the colour. I did spend ages searching for a stamp of violets which I was sure I had but maybe it was just one I wanted and never got ! I do love this Penny Black poppy and its looks good in any colour.

Zucchini ?

At Butterfly challenge its the letter Z or the colour zucchini , I've gone for the colour which Valerie tells us is shades of green and yellow.  I think I need some more flowers stamps, all mine seem to be poppies!  coloured this one yellow like the Welsh Poppies that persist in growing anywhere in my garden. Up, Up and Away

It is my turn to choose the Challenge at Cardz4guyz this week and I've chosen Up, Up and Away, Planes, balloons etc .  I decided I'd make two cards this week as I couldn't decide what to do. I did start out with a hot air balloon but that one ended up in the bin. !  Hope you will join us with a masculine themed card this week 

Sparkle

This month at Christmas Sparkles Pat has asked for " Lots Of Glitter "For my card I have used one of my favourite Stampendous stamps ,stamped, coloured, then covered with double side clear sticky paper , cut out and then removed the protective sheet and covered the whole piece with glamour dust,very sparkly in real life, also used glitter card for layering too.  EF is a Sheena Douglas one and the die cut trees were given to me by a friend.  Caz has donated the prize this month. Hope you will join us in our 1st challenge of 2017

Coffee and cream

Happy New Year Everyone.  This months challenge at Stamping Sensations is Coffee and Cream. I've had a problem getting the colours on my card to show up properly, the base card and the piece I've stamped on are both cream and the mat is brown ( you'll just have to take my words for it !)

I just love the set of Horse Stamps from Inkadinkado and they stamp beautifully too .
