Couture

After making two "cuties" thought I'd make a "just because" card. Used two of my favourite stamps,
Tim Holtz "vogue" for the stamped background and B Line "couture" for the main image. The flowers are Stampin up and the tape measure stamped on the seam binding is Hero Arts . For some reason I have always stamped the Couture in Black and made black and white cards with it. Tonight I tried stamping it in red on a scrap piece of K&Co DP and really liked the look of it,however when I made up the card it looked a bit  dull so stamped her again in red on some whire card and stuck it over the top. The stamping on seam binding was not a 100% sucessful as its a bit faint but its worth another try at a later date. Been looking round at challenges and I'm putting this on Simon says stamp and show-  favourite stamp, Stampman-Torn/Ripped/Red and Sunday Stamper- Red. I'm also putting this on the new challenge at Craftroomchallenge

Great Grandson's birthday

Here is the card I have made for our youngest great grandson who is two in June ( I'm trying to get ahead with cards I have to make !) The little boy is a Freebie stamp from a magazine. Although the spotty paper looks black on here it is actually brown. Two cute cards in a row, whats the world coming to LOL........ Putting this card in for Cute Card Thursday which is a sketch and for Creative Craft which is a colour combo of Blue/cream and brown.

Jack & Ginger

Well I was going to spend all day crafting but ended up spending most of it trying to work out how to do stuff on the computer, I'm beginning to think it was not a good idea to get a new one as I can't seem to get the hang of it, everything is so different, at least I can still manage to put stuff on my blog. I have had this Jack&Ginger stamp from Stampavie since last year and never used it. Craftycardmakers challenge is for Love - the lasting kind so I straight away thought of this stamp. I'm also putting it on Dutch Dare which is a sketch.

Shaped Card

Not having much success tonight, I have tried taking a photo of this card and then ended up scanning it but the colours don't look right either way, the DP is a much lighter green . Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week is for a shaped card. Cut the card shape with my largest nestability die, punched the lace trim with woodware punch, died the seam binding with alcohol inks. The image is from a collage sheet I got ages ago.

Pick a square

I think my brain stayed away on holiday when I came home as I couldn't think of a single thing to do for the Less Is More challenge of take a square, what did I do, took a circle ! after moving the stamped image all over the card I decided the only place it looked right was in the centre so I don't know if this qualifies for the challenge or not, I see some people have done several entries, their brains must be working so much better than mine.I had to post this card quickly as I could hardly stop myself adding something more to it, its far too bare looking for me.

Masculine card

Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week is for a masculine card. I made this card with bits and pieces from my Graphic 45 scrap box and a vintage car stamp from Butterfly Kisses, bit of bakers twine and some dotty card candy, bit of distressing round the edges both with ink and distressing tool for that vintage look. I have to say I really enjoyed making this.I do try  all styles of cards but at the end of the day vintage and inky stuff are my real loves.

Butterflies

Just managed a sit down for a few minutes, had a busy day getting packed etc for going away tomorrow, we are only going for five days but as we are going to Scotland and the weather forecast is not good we're taking everything but the kitchen sink !   Took a bit of time out this afternoon and made this card for Less Is More challenge which this week is Butterflies.  Embossed a Crafters Workshop template through the cuttlebug and just chalked the embossed bits, bit of punched lace, some ribbon and a greeting plus a little butterfly that was just lying on the table, I had a bag of bits and pieces out earlier, must have fallen out of it.

Stampman atc swaps

my blog has been sadly neglected this last week, the only crafting I have done is to make a bunch of birthday cards and  they have all been "cut and stick" types mostly made with papers from Making Cards magazines, they do have some really nice papers and they are not the horrible shiny stuff that is in most of the so called craft mags around now , apart from Craft Stamper I have stopped buying any of them ( unless they have some freebie on the front that I need!) although most of them have now gone up to £4.99 and are just not worth that price. Don't quite know where that rant came from but its over now !  We are off away again on Monday, my Brother asked did we want to go to Scotland with him and his wife and as I never turn down a chance to go on holiday of course I said yes. I had not got round to putting away suitcases etc from our London trip so will get packed tomorrow. I realised it would be too late for the Stampman atc swap when we get back so quickly made these three. The theme is friendship. Stamps used are Crafty Individuals/Viva/Inkadinkado/Red Lead/ Stampin Up and Hero Arts. The Red Lead stamp with the two little boys was a present from my sister ages ago and I just re discovered it and finally got to use it, love their happy little faces.

Fly Free

Challenge on Sugar Creek Hollow this week is a recipe : 3 patterned/designer papers
                                                                                           2 die cuts
                                                                                           1 charm
I've used some oldish Basic Grey papers, a nestie label, Sizzex bird and cage and a little key charm and a bit of inking and distressing . I have been making some other cards which are for birthdays coming up shortly so can't show them right now. I seem to have been on a pink, flowery theme just recently and felt I needed to get back to a bit of vintage and ink.

Hero Art Flowers

A "just because" post. I made this card as I wanted to try out the technique shown on the Hero Art site and I really liked the result so made the panel into a card. I don't usually just copy something but as I had two of the three stamps they had used I did more or less in this instance, I love the layered effect stamping and this time I did get the spritzing with water bit right, usually I end up with a stamped puddle !.  What with the issues with blogger and struggling with my new computer everything is taking for ever to do.  Some things on my computer are not working ( waiting to get that sorted) and I can't find how to do some other things as its all so different, I'm sure it will be better when I get more used to it but right now I'm finding it hard work!  Time to make some dinner and I may get to do some more crafting later.

Capture The Moment

I seem to be really back into the vintage mode at the moment,  had some new stamps from Creative Expressions that I wanted to play with (frame, photographer, film strip and background stamps) I love the fact that there are tiny stamps that fit into the photo strip stamp too. The lady in the frame is from a magazine clipping, the little camera is shrink plastic, haven't played with that for ages, and the film strip is ideaology. Creative Craft Challenge is for vintage/distress this time, although I haven't distressed the papers I have used distress inks as usual ! Think this could also go for Craftuscrazy which is favourite embellishment OR something new which is the stamps.

More Steampunk ?

Been having another play at Steampunk, the background paper is G45,  new stamp by Eco Green Crafts and cog die cuts plus inking and distressing, had Crafty Cardmakers challenge in mind when I did it and also Simon Says - Anything goes but due to blogger problems didn't get it posted, just going to see if either of them are still open ?

Rose Girl

Finally got my computer back today, its much more up to date than my last one and I'm having to find my way round various programmes so everything is taking longer than usual, up to now I am loving the speed of it but struggling a bit with having to do things differently, I'm such a dummy at computer stuff !
I've seen a challenge on a site that I think is called Sugar Creek Hollow but will have to go and have another look before I link it, the challenge is for vintage or shabby chic I think, I'll have to edit this when I find it. Oh yes its also a sketch. The papers I've used are Papermania Rose garden and the image is a free one from the internet. Edited 14th May :  Blogger "stole" my picture so I'm re-posting it !
