Snow Globe

Having an enforced lazy day today due to health reasons but can't sit and do nothing so spent some time playing with new stamps I got a couple of weeks ago at the Sincerely Yours Show. I love this snow globe stamp and stencil set from Inkylicious, I didn't see it demo'd so it took me a while to realise it was better to stamp the base and then do the stencilled globe but I got there in the end ! I also got to use new icicle die and sentiment stamp. Once I'd got the hang of it its a very quick card to make, minimal colouring required, hard to see but there is some falling snow ,used my Posca white pen for it. I'd like to enter the following challenges

Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Day Challenge - ATG as lone as its Christmas
Crafting By Design - get ready for Christmas
Addicted to Stamps - Holidays ( Christmas)

Up, Up and Away

I had fully intended to carry on and make the rest of the cards with the resist technique from last night, but tonight I got distracted by the Male Room challenge for shaving foam paper.  As usual I had quite a lot of it in my stacks of unused experiments , they were done with reinkers ages ago. I had intended to stamp direct onto the paper but its like a resist and wouldn't take the stamping, luckily as its glossy card  I was able to just wipe the stamping off with a baby wipe. I've used a Crafty Individuals stamp and the compass is an Indigo Blu stamp.

Furry Friends

This week at cardz4guyz we are asking for you to include your furry friend (s). For my card I have used Indigo Blu Kevins Gang cat stamps, first time of inking even though I got them back in May at Port Sunlight ( just sent off for tickets for October Port Sunlight show) I did orinally start off with a brusho background with the cats masked and stamped directly but it was too fussy so I cut out the cats and mounted them on two sizes of stitched squares and I'm happy with the result.

Resist

Saw that Fashionable Stamping challenge this week is for resist techniques, Its one of my favourite techniques, love how the white pops through the colour. For my card I dug out this Hero Art Vine Stamp and embossed it with white detail, coloured with various Distress inks. The quote is a new stamp from Inkylicious and the butterflies are an old stamp from Artistic Stamper.

Its all about the words

Almost forgot to do my DT card for Cardz4guyz this week even though its my turn to choose the topic !  I have chosen the theme of " words to be the focal point on your card".  I love quote and text stamps and quite a collection so am always happy to have an opportunity to give one an airing. This one is from Inkylicious. The background is one of the massive Docraft stamps I got a short time ago, stamped and embossed in white and coloured with distress inks, apart from the Hello in the top corner there is also text at bottom left but nearly covered up by the wording panel. Hope to see you at our challenge this wee3k.

Fennel

Quick play with anew stamp (Woodware Fennel) that I bought yesterday at Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show at Harrogate. What a lovely show it was too and such a shame it wasn't better attended, lots of demonstrations going on , friendly exhibitors and great catering at unbelievable prices ( yummy cake !) I had my sensible head on for once and got stocked up with the basics, new ink pads, glue, spray bottles etc but also quite a lot of stamps too , some starlight paints (can't wait to have a play with them) and more stencils  Today back to earth and paintbrush out painting the porch .

Leftovers

Try It On Tuesdays current challenge is to use your left overs, well I have plenty of those for sure.
On my card ,the first layer is a piece of wax paper resist left over from my mid month motivation on Stamping Sensations  here, still have a lot of it left. The next layer is a piece of distress inked card on which I  used the technique of lifting the ink through a stencil with a baby wipe, the butterfly was in a folder with a lot of stampin up butterflies that I had been trying out the triple stamping in various colours, this one is an almost perfect match even though it is stamped with memento inks , I did keep a note with all the butterflies of which colours I had used, not like me to be so efficient . The enamel dots are dark green not black as they look on here. I thought maybe it needs something else but I didn't want to cover up the stencilled layer!

Paris in Black and White

I've not been able to get in my craft room over the last week as the decorator decided it was the best place for him to set up his pasting table and all the rest of his gear . Hopefully he will be finished in a couple of days and I can get everything put away.  I had to empty by big bookcase in the hall and it had a lot of my stamp folders etc in it, they are all piled up in my bedroom at the moment, chaos rules! While I was looking for something else I picked up an A4 folder full of ATCs,hundreds of them LOL, Looking through it I noticed two things, one that I used to be a lot more creative than I am now and two that there are a lot of lovely stamps I havn't used for years . The collage stamp on here is one of the first Stampin Up ones I had, sent to me by my sister I believe, I used old Hero stamp French writing for the background and bits and pieces from my stash. I'd like to enter this into

Cardz4galz - monochrome
and

Blooms

This month at Stamping Sensations its Anything Goes ( with a stamp!)  as we are a stamping challenge you must use stamps to be eligible for the prize.  This month we are sponsored by Foil Play who are offering this lovely prize.

For my card I have used some of my home made spray inks for the background with a bit of stencilling, splattering and text stamping. Stamped the flower stems and then stamped and fussy cut the flowers heads and glued them on top of the stalks, I am hopeless at lining up these flowers with the stalks so find it easier to do it that way!

Wild Ride

This week at Cardz4guyz the challenge , chosen by Helen is Transport.  I'm hoping my motorcycle is classed as transport.  My card is a very quick one using Stampin Up One Wild Ride, first inking for this stamp set and I can see its going to be a favourite, love the tyre track and the oily splodges.  Hope you will join us this week with a card for one of the guys in your life.

A shaped Christmas Card

This month at Sparkles Christmas    Helen has asked us to make a shaped card, I had no trouble making the card just getting it onto my blog was the problem, I normally just scan my cards as my old computer does not have a memory card slot and getting a photo onto it involved messing about with card reader which only works when it feels like it ! (New computer is on the "to do" list but I don't know what to go for, most of my family now have Apple Macs but I don't think I could cope with having to start over learning everything again)  Anyhow back to my card, very simple all papers and topper from an old Making Cards Christmas magazine, I will probably stamp a Christmas verse inside it at a later date.
