away with the fairies

I've never really been into making anything with fairies but I have to admit to taking a liking to fairy doors, I have a lovely wooden one waiting to be decorated (sometime!) but somehow I seem to have suddenly enjoyed playing with this set which were free with a papercraft magazine a few weeks ago.
I have made these four atcs for a friend who has just sent me some lovely ones, I haven't made any for ages but these were so quick and simple, using my Misti I did have to stamp the fairies a couple of times to get a really black silhouette.  Coloured with promarkers and lots of glitter added.  I'd like to enter these in a couple of challenges

Rudolph day robin

Since I got Windows 10 I can't get at my pictures in the editing programme I used to use and I find it really irritating!  Anyhow just made this card from bits and pieces from an old Making Cards magazine, do like the Robin images from this one . While I was searching for bits of DP I did bring myself to throw some of the images from a couple of the other magazines away, I need to stop hoarding !  Don't think I'll be making anymore like this as I'm not that happy at how it turned out but its another one in the box LOL  I wanted to get entered into the Rudolph Day challenge as I've made myself a promise I will enter it every month

In The Country

Oh my goodness, I forgot to make my DT card for Cardz4guyz this week, didn't remember until 11pm last night so its a very hasty put together one this time. The challenge this week by Sue is In The Country so lots of scope there. For my card I have used a topper from Making Cards magazine and some woodgrain paper from my stash. Hope you will join us in this weeks challenge.

Pretty In Pink

I got this Woodware stamp  at the Harrogate show this month, i do have quite a few bike stamps but I liked that this one is big enough to need nothing else but a sentiment.  Coloured in with Karisma pencils and added a few sequins. I'd like to enter my card into

Trees

This week at Cardz4guyz it is my turn to choose the challenge and I have chosen the theme of Trees.
I have had this Craftty Individual stamp over a year and have not really used it but today I tried stamping it on a piece of background paper that I had coloured with distress oxide inks and I really like how it looks. The background is Stampin up hardwood stamp which I use such a lot for male cards and the sentiment is a freebie stamp. Hope you will join us this week with a card for a guy in your life  I'd also like to enter my card in the Male Room challenge

Lady In Red

I was lucky enough to manage to get some oxide distress ink pads at the Harrogate show last Friday, I only bought six as I was not sure I needed them, oh yes I really do need the other six now, I love them!  On this background I have used faded jeans, wilted violet and cracked pistachio ,liberally spritzed with water. I stamped the Justrite Paris Boutique background stamp very lightly as I didn' t want a strong print and then I went back in and restamped the tower and Paris bit again so it showed up more. I stamped the runway girl directly onto the background but them I tried to bleach out her face and ended up with a hole in the paper LOL. stamped her on a bit of card and cut out most of her,the legs ,hand and dog are the original stamped bits.Coloured her with festive berries distress ink.
I'd like to enter my card into Try It On Tuesday Challenge - The Lady In Red

Transport

We have a lot of family birthdays in February and March so I've been having to make a lot of masculine cards lately, got a bit of an overload with cars and motor bikes so thought I have a play with this old steam train collage stamp, stamped onto a piece of inky paper from "the pile" and just tore off the top bit as it had a yellow sun on it for some reason. The embossed cog piece is also from "the pile" as it the piece of background paper which is actually a bit more purplely than it looks on here. Die cut the cogs ( a cheap die from the works which cuts really well) and just rubbed them with inka gold and green. I would like to enter this card into a couple of challenges

Numbers

This weeks at Cardz4guyz the challenge, chosen by Jan, is numbers.  I've made my card for a Great Grandson's eleventh birthday next month,  Now what I know about football could be written on a sixpence bu I know at Christmas he came all togged out in a football strip which I think was Leeds United, couldn't get hold of his Mum to check so hopefully I've got it right. Had to look up their colours on google so just gone with yellow and blue and hope it's right. The image is from a Making Cards CD, I've used a numbers embossing folder, stitched stars and some numbers from a bits and bobs box.  Hope you will join us this week with a card for a Guy in your life.

more inky bits and pieces

Had a friend round the other day for a bit of crafting, we haven't seen each other for ages so it was more talking than stamping but while I was looking through a file full of inky backgrounds I found these white embossed images so last night I decided it was time to make something of them. Added more distress inks to the backgrounds as they were a bit pale, bleached out the flowers and painted them with distress inks, then just matted and added the sentiments and a few punched butterfles.
Went to the Harrogate Papercrafts show yesterday, not the best of shows, gets smaller every time BUT Inkylicious were there so spent quite a lot of time watching Emma do some fabulous demonstrations, of course I did have to buy a few more stamps and they actually had the Oxide distress inks so loaded up with them, will be interesting to see how they work. More Woodware stamps from the Stamp Hut and own make stamps from Whichcraft ,plus after seeing their demonstrator using the Neo Colour water soluble wax pencils I now have them to play with ! just need more hours to play LOL

Snap !

This week at Cardz4guyz , Helen has chosen CAS for the challenge.  I'n not at ease with this genre as I always have to add just one more element !  For this card I have used some Close To My Heart stamps that I haven't  used for a while, if I made this card again I would stamp the camera a bit higher to leave a bit more room for the sentiment but I never, ever plan a card, its just what evolves and mostly it works LOL

The design team have some lovely samples for you over on the challenge site and I hope you will join us this week with a card for a Guy in your life.

Busy Bees

Time for another challenge at Stamping Sensations and this month the theme is Close To Nature.

afternoon tea

These freebie stamps have been laid about on my table for some time now, not really "my cup of tea" I thought, however yesterday I was twiddling my thumbs not knowing what to do and started to play about with them, the little tea cup die came with the set and that's what I first started playing about with. The background paper is also from some free papers from another magazine. I think it might be the first time I have used the lovely Tim Holtz doily die, must remember to use it more often. i'm entering this into these challenges

Try It OnTuesday -  Time for Tea
Addicted to stamps - Anything goes

I also made this little 3x3 card from bits on my desk, image already stamped and coloured and a piece of wax resist for the background and a scrap of paper lace.  The pile of bits and pieces never seems to go down, probably because every time I make something there always seems to be something left over that gets added to the pile!

Star of night

Here is my DT card for Christmas Sparkles this month, the challenge has been chosen by Babs and she asks us to use Gold/Silver.  I do love to use gold or silver on my Christmas cards but ,oh dear, its a real pain to try and get a decent picture of it.  I decided to use a some matt silver card I had and it has worked pretty well, the star is stamped.embossed with silver and then die cut,the smaller star cut from blue glitter card.I didn't have enough of the glitter card to make a mat so cut strips and used them as a frame. The stamping is all done with blue encore ink and the star swirl is embossed with some very ancient Judikins Iridescent sparkle embossing powder, must be at least 10 years old so I did wonder if it would work but worked just fine.  Hope to see you at our challenge this month.
