The challenge at Try It On Tuesday is to Add A Quote and there is still a week to enter .  After I had made my DT card last week I thought that I do not use my quotation stamps nearly enough so last night I made a batch of Brusho backgrounds and tonight I have been stamping and adding quotes to some of the pieces.

For this one I have stamped the Crafty Individuals Baroque background, the quotation is from an old set of Elusive Image (now Chocolate Baroque) stamps and the butterflies are also Elusive images stamped onto an extra piece, of inky paper and fussy cut

For my second card I have used Inkylicious Ballerina stamp, added a bit of glitter to her Tutu and a quote from a very old Chapel Road stamp set, a few punched glitter stars added.

Used the gorgeous Visible Image butterfly for this one, quote from Artistic Stamper and foliage from Inkylicious

This is my least favourite but maybe it will grow on me ! its a Woodware stamp and an Elusive image butterfly, I have tried to add a bit of colour to the plants but think I would stamp it in another colour another time.

I have been really struggling with crafting for some time now and have even considered giving it up but I've made a few decisions as I have realised I was feeling pressured to produce cards for my charity ,making cards I knew would sell rather than just making what I really like, so I am putting that on hold for the time being.  The above cards were my first just for fun play and I have enjoyed making them .

  1. The cards are wonderful. Great idea to feel free and do what YOU want, that's the way! Hugs, Valerie

  2. You can tell that you enjoyed making them Joan as they are stunning cards. I love them all but the first one is my favourite. Do what you enjoy doing and the rest of it will fall into place. Great colours, great layouts too and I really like the stamps and sentiments that you’ve chosen. Keep up the good work. Sandra x

  3. What an insoirational post Joan and as Sandra said you can see how you enjoyed making these, each lovely in it's own way. The first has my favourite CB sentiment which I use so often.

I know just what you mean about feelng pressured to create for charity, I fell into the rame hole then realised whatever I give them sells so now it's what I enjoy rather than what I think they need.

  6. A gorgeous set of cards Joan and I am sure you had fun making them. Enjoy your crafting 'for yourself' time. I'm sure these cards would all sell for charity should you decide to do so.

  7. Gorgeous cards Joan, you always make fabulous Brusho backgrounds and you've paired them with lovely sentiments and images.
Crafting's got to be about enjoying yourself and you can tell you've enjoyed making these.

  8. Lovely art pieces, Joan. I went through a similar thing as you describe last year. I loved making cards for my family but it began to feel like a job. So I quit making them but I continued making other kinds of art. The break helped me. I still don't make cards for my family anymore except for 4 people who truly love and want anything I make, but I make cards to make them when I am inspired and I worry about where they go later, lol. Please don't quit arting and crafting if it is how you express yourself, just find a more fun way to do it. :-) xoxo
