Twas the night before Christmas

Haven't done a Winter Wonderland Challenge for ages so just fancied making a Christmas card for a change! At least the temperature outside has gone down a bit,I was totally wiped out with the heat,just does not agree with me these days, used to love it, must be another "age" thing !

Somewhere beyond the sea.....

Thought I had already done this but I obviously haven't, not having a good day today.
Made this for Tuesday Taggers whose theme is "make a scene" well how I feel right now I could ! but will settle for this card, all stamps from Beyond The Sea by Artistic Outpost.

one fed up blogger !

Well I,ve spent hours today trying to sort out my blog after all the backgrounds etc I had painstakingly put on were taken back by the site I got them from, seems even though they were given for free its ok for them to just take them off anyones blog when they feel like it. Now all my links to sites I follow have disappeared from my dashboard, at the moment I feel like saying I don't want to do this anymore. I am not very good on the computer and its a struggle for me set things up and I don't feel like spending even more time trying to put it all right. Anyhow whinge over for now!

altered book cover

Here is my altered book cover for ReadySteadyStamp,since I started this there is a note to say it does not have to be a book cover but I had already started it so carried on as I was enjoying making it.There was a long list of ingredients of which had to choose five: OK I have used 1.dry embossing/embossed metal with Sizix embossing plate,coloured it with 2.alcohol inks-Expresso(Brown)& lettuce(green) Used Cream card stock for the cover.3.used distress inks on the cream card(shabby shutters and brushed corduroy)4.paint-hinges are painted with leaf green acrylic paint and then 5.embossed with verdigris embossing powder.6.the book is a rectangle as is the embossed metal plate 7.Heart is metal embellishment as is the padlock and key and 8.its fairly masculine I think. Did not have anything to make a coat of arms, the stamp of the Prince of Wales feathers is from an english tea cube stamp stamped on a nestabilities label. The actual book is a very tatty old book which has lots of important(to me) craft information in ,was in need of a face lift.
Don't know when I last enjoyed myself as much making this ! The difference in colour in the pictures is that one is a scan and one a photo, the darker one is the photo and more true to the colours. The metal heart by the way is an old belt clasp out of my "will come in useful one day" box!

Rainy Day

my scanner has completely altered the colours of this card ! The background paper and punched lace strip are really light brown ! This little girl with the umbrella is one of the new vintage line from Papermania, just love these stamps. Bit of distress ink round the edges and a couple of border punches.Think the flowers are Prima.

Cupcake

Nearly forgot to do this weeks challenge for Tag your It, wanted to do all four to join in the swap. Now cupcakes are not really my thing for crafting although I am don't need my arm twisting to eat one! I do have some Hero cupcake stamps but they are quite small and I like to do bigger tags so I just made my cupcake from various papers, the cupcake case is ribbled although it doesn't look like it on here,bit of stamping on the background and a couple of flowers to top it off.

This tag is not for anything in particular, just enjoyed making it with these new stamps from Artistic Outpost The boats are from a stamp from Butterfly Kisses.

skinny?

This is the first time I have made a "skinny" which I understand is 3"x5", not the easiest of sizes to work on ! Something Completely different challenge is for Flora and Fauna, hope the butterflies count as Fauna ! The seedframe and little girl are Artistic Outpost Stamps,butterfly and flower are ISC.(now I have put it on my blog I think I should have cropped the background ,the black is just a piece of card I use in the scanner so it picks up the edges )

Susie

Here is a card I made for one of our grandaughters. she loves everything pink and "girly" As its pink and brown thought I would also enter it for the One Stop Craft Challenge The background paper looks more lilac on here but it is really pink. I had not intended putting the bows and pearls across the bottom of the card but wouldn't you know ? I caught the edge of the birthday stamp and made two marks, tried to rub it off and made it worse so had to cover them up with something! should know better than to stamp direct onto an almost finished card but I never learn !!!

Tag your It asked for a handmade ribbon embellishment this week, easy I thought, duh!
made a flower, looked rubbish, tried to make a fancy bow, kept coming undone, ended up with a simple double bow and a button !

Love letters

A quick tag for Tag Tuesday which this week is postage. I did get out my collection of postage stamps but I was reluctant to actually stick some of the prettiest ones on a tag and while I was searching about for an image to use I came across these faux postage which I downloaded ages ago from Go Print Something .

Tony's card

A birthday card for our son-in-law who's birthday is tomorrow (actually its today as its well after midnight ! ) Made with the ever lovely Graphic 45 papers. His birthday is the same day as my Mother's, she has been gone from us for thirty years but we still remember her as if it was yesterday and still miss her very much.

Cornish Heritage stamp

I love this stamp by Cornish Heritage as I have the picture by Harrison Fisher, its been around since I was a child(long time !) I don't get to use it very often as I don't have anyone who is interested in horses other than me. This card is for a friend who is 86 today and up to a couple of years ago she was still doing a day a week as a volunteer for riding for the disabled. She has had a life long love of horses started riding as a child , worked for a famous racehorse trainer and loved to visit the yards when ever she got a chance. I hope she likes this card.

Bluebirds

I've struggled with Tag Your It challenge this week as it asks for a tag created in the style of someone who inspires you. I cannot choose one person as I am influenced by so many different people. Yes, I love Tim Holtz ( who doesn't ?) I am filled with admiration for Louise of KardKrazy and Jacqueline of My Scrap Basket but there are also numerous other people who I take inspiration from. Eventually I decided to go with my favourite stamp company which is Artistic Outpost, I love their stamps and the fact they come in sets,plus most of the sets also interact with each other. I love the card gallery on their site, full of fantastic samples and they have a fabulous design team who all have great blogs too !

Life's a beach

Think the sun has gone to my head ,I have visions of sitting in a deckchair with a nice cold drink in my hand, instead I am melting over my computer having a second try at posting this card for Sentiment Sunday challenge which is Summertime !
