Pink?

Make it Monday challenge this week is an inspirational picture, very pretty but a bit sugary for me, however I am trying to get back into doing a few challenges so thought I'd give it a go! While I was sorting out some boxes of card stock I found some pretty pink pearly type card so that started me off .My stamp press finally arrived from Create and Craft and it does work well, just take a bit of getting used to. I've had this Crafty Individual stamp a while and not used it before. Anyhow for the challenge I've taken from the picture The bird cage, white flowers and the colour pink. Also putting it on The Alphabet challenge which is Lace.

youngster

sneaking in at last minute with another fat book page for the Craft Barn Alpha/dictionary challenge, my word is youngster, nearly forgot about the yellow so coloured the cap and T shirt stripes yellow

cheer up!

Yeah, I finally managed to stamp a card, quite basic for me and the sentiment is not straight but I so enjoyed making it. My stamp press has still not arrived, first time I have ever ordered from create and craft and think it will be the last ! These are my new stamps from Justrite and I love them, especially the flowery branch. The background is the same stamp stamped directly onto the card blank.

Sits and Thinks

Had a fab day out at the seaside, guaranteed to lift anyone's spirits, fish'n'chips, ice cream and paddling in the sea on a beautiful hot day, don't take much to please me!  Even felt like a little crafting tonight too. I'm still waiting for my stamp press to arrive so still struggling a bit to stamp as my fingers are still quite stiff and sore(but lots better)  This is just another of my inky experiments backgrounds and the girl and mushrooms were already stamped and waiting to be used. they are from another of my new Lindsay Mason stamp sets, cut them out and added them to the tag, I did manage to stamp the quote (another new one) onto the tag, not very straight but not too bad, the little leaves round the top are an Inkylicious stamp.

Stamp Press ?

Help !   does anyone know if Fiskars still make the Stamp Press and does anyone know where I  can buy one ?  I watched some videos on you tube and it looked like it could help me to use my stamps, I still can't grip anything properly and I'm just so frustrated at not being able to do anything. Spent the last two hours searching without success.  How are you all coping with the heat, unbearably close and humid today.

Finally got a little bit of crafting

Spent several hours at Chapel Allerton Hospital last Wednesday and finally got somewhere, loads of tests, ultra sounds and armfuls of bloods but at last I'm getting some treatment. They have a an Arthritis research programme there and I have been put on that. Up to now there are no rheumatoid markers so they think it is inflammatory arthritis which is more or less the same thing. It's in almost all my joints and its unbelievably painful! However I am now on steroids and they seems to be kicking in hence managing to make the fat book page in the last post.

I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have left me such kind and encouraging comments, believe me they are so much appreciated

Lindsay Mason Class

I Have had a place on the Lindsay Mason class booked for weeks and was really looking forward to it
All this week I have been thinking I would have to cancel as I was sure I wouldn't be able to do the cards with my hands as they are, however I decided at least I could sit and watch and there is nothing wrong with my mouth so could at least have a natter. Anyhow with the help of others on the class and the lovely Lindsay I did complete one card and have just finished off the other tonight. I was totally exhausted and ended up sleeping for several hours when I got home but it was worth it!  I love Lindsay's quirky stamps and she is such a friendly and helpful lady.
I am seeing the Consultant on Monday and I am hoping to get at least some decent pain relief and find out exactly what's going on. I am so fed up of not being able to do anything, I don't mind so much I can't do the housework but I am so missing my crafting!

U is for .............

Haven't managed to do a dictionary page this week, sadly lacking in energy and still have extremely painful hands and wrists, very frustrating, I'm not good at not being well!

Had a look through my big dictionary and found a few interesting words, unicycle/unicorn/union jack/upbeat/unconventional and upside down but I settled on the word URCHIN - raggedly dressed, mischievious child- now I was tempted to use an old photo of myself and siblings but thought they might not be amused!  remembered this Lindsey Mason Stamp and quote which I thought really fitted the meaning of the word so made a page for my 4x4 fat book.

I also liked the word Umbell - type of flowers, found this little quote for Umbellifers ,used pan pastels white embossing and overstamped with cobalt blue, another page for the fat book.

Roses

Make My Monday this week is CAS using only flowers and sentiment. This die cut with the roses on has been in my pile of unfinished bits and pieces for ages, so just added it to an oblong card, added the sentiment and a bit of glitter on the flowers. I was itching to ink the edges but managed to control the urge .  Still struggling with the hands problems, my GP is pretty sure its rheumatoid arthritis which is a bit of a blow as I was hoping it was something that could be cleared up fairly quickly, see the consultant in two weeks which is an improvement on the first  appointment they gave me which for August!.   The only good thing is that I have all sorts of bits and pieces stamped/inked etc so at least I can manage to concoct the odd card or two. Seems least painful at night which is when I usually craft so that's something else I should appreciate!

Bloom and Grow

Still having problems with my hands so very little crafting going on, so frustrating !  I do have a few cards that I have not posted on my blog before, this is one I made for a swap, I always make one to send and one to keep. Not the best of scans as its inside a cellophane bag.  Stamped the two seed packets and then stamped the little girl and the wording on the packet. These stamps are from Artistic Outpost bloom and grow set. The strip at the bottom is stamped with some old papermania stamps, bit of mesh stuff and some raffia ribbon.

paperboy

Managed to put this tag together last night. The background was a piece from my pile of inky experiments, the pile keeps getting bigger and bigger, need to be using them instead of making more. The news boy was already stamped ,coloured and cut out from an earlier project so just needed to add a bit of background stamping, bit of newspaper and some tissue tape.  A couple of challenges this week are for tags so entering it on them .All the stamps are from Artistic Outpost Paperboy set
