This is my Off centre entry for Less Is More challenge, its been the weirdest card to scan as no matter what background I have put it on, black, brown, dark green the scan would not pick up the background, however as it has got the card edges except for the ribbon going over the edge don't suppose it matters but cards always seem to show up better on a dark background. Got some of my Artistic Outpost stamps out to play with, haven't used them for a while and I do love them. The seed packet stamp is especially useful as can put anything in the middle. I finally found out (thank to Ikki of Cuttlebug fame) how to emboss with Crafters Workshop templates, the only problem I found is that the tan mat is not wide enough to be able to emboss the whole 6" width of the template, If this has not been for Less Is More I would probably have gone over the embossing with chalks as the embossing doesn't show up very well on here.

Hello there Joan, Your card's very cute, the little girl is a sweetie. I like the seed packet stamp, useful:0)
ReplyDeleteShame you're having problems scanning the background:{ You may find if you photographed it the embossing would show more because of the contrast of light and shade. It's still possible to see the embossed flowers on your pretty card. Have fun:0) xxx
What a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are you going to THE Wedding???
I was with Ikki at the NEC and we bought some of those templates...if you are embossing with the tan mat, you can move it over and do it in two runs through!
ReplyDeleteIf you could possibly photograph your cards rather than scan them, I think that those kind of details would be much clearer, plus they wouldn't look flat and lifeless, which is what scans tends to do to them.
This card is sweet, but I bet it looks MUCH nicer in real life!
Happy crafting

Pretty card Joan, as Chrissie says photographing cards gives them much more life
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, lovely little image
A lovely card. The stamp is great, and I love the little wording embellishment. The embossing does show. If you photograph you can adjust constrast and it will show up more. Lynn x

I love the embossing...and that little girl seed packet is outstanding! I only photograph my card now. I never could get them to scan true color. I even take the photos at night. I simply put a couple of pieces of cardstock (one under and one behind) the card and bring my lamp (ott light) down to point directly at the card. You might need to adjust the levels in a photo editing program, but usually not too much.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card Joan, I can see the embossing fine but agree with the others that photos are best. Lovely stamp too and your colouring is fab. You mentioned about printing directly onto card in your comment on my blog....you dont have to with digi images you can just print on patterned paper or card, then cut out and place on card :)
