This didn't work out anything like I had intended but having started I was going to finish come what may. My chosen word was Ancestor as I have a great interest in family having done quite a lot of research into our family trees and being fortunate to own quite a big collection of old family photos. This is a TAP transfer of my great grandparents, unfortunately it didn't work too well, don't think it liked the gesso base, the original photo shows them with all four of their children, the little boy you can just see at the bottom is my grandfather. After doing the transfer I used a die cut of a tree for the family tree ,various bits of stamping and dabbling about with pan pastels to colour.Still not sure about it but hey ho it's done now.

Don't doubt yourself, Joan, this is so clever..the transfer looks beautifully distressed in keeping with your theme. Ancestor is a brilliant choice. xxx Annie
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool!
ReplyDeleteFunny how sometimes our work never turns out quite as we anticipated Joan, but I really love what you ended up with here, such a lovely misty ethereal feel.

This is lovely - it may not have come out as you wishes but I like the distressed effect of the pic, it gives it a great vintage feel.
ReplyDeleteOh I adore your page, so vintage with a hint of deep lucious colour hinting of the vibrancy of days long gone. The photo transfer is just right too, too perfect wouldn't have gone with the vintageness so well. BJ

Oh, this looks fabulous! I think the photo is perfect because it looks aged. So many old photos have tears and stains and bits missing. I'm not saying yours are like that but so many are. I think that goes great with your word. Your whole page looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt may not be what you had in mind Joan, but its fabulous. Love the aged look the photo has taken on and such gorgeous colours and embellishments.
