Spring ?

I've had this Stampendous stamp for a few years but not really done much with it, at the moment I've been playing about with the old technique of stamping with an acrylic block, never get two backgrounds the same. This made for a very simple card, just added touched of colour to the daffodils and matted onto green and yellow card. I had meant this to be an Easter card but can't find my Easter stamp!  As to my post title, well what can I say ? Saturday beautiful day , lots of washing dried outside, some tidying up in the garden, tried to clean the windows (not a success!) Yesterday, back to biting cold wind, frost last night and today , windy, cold and bucket loads of rain! Lots of challenges about for Spring so entering a few of them

Lovely in lilac`

Dug out this old Stamp It stamp for the Flonzcraft vintage stamping challenge which is "Olde Worlde", I think this pretty lady is Edwardian so hope she is olde worlde enough.  I don't know why but I have never coloured her in anything but lilac and green so here she is all dressed up again in the same old colours.  I made the background with distress inks, three different shades, the I tried stamping a large lace stamp with water, didn't work too well so I then overstamped the lace stamp again with dusty concord and also bits of French writing , didn't want to cover it up too much so just added the bits of lace and ribbon and a couple of pins.

A just for the sake of it card, got this stamp at Christmas and while I love it I haven't really done anything with it. While I was playing with colouring with karisma pencils I had a go at colouring her, love her attitude and style !

Botanical Notes

Spent all day yesterday fighting with my new all in one PSC, ended up having to call Hewlett Packard help, very helpful young man who spent a lot of time trying to sort it all, transpires the fault lies with my computer, several drivers (whatever they are!) have been disabled in other words my security has disabled them because someone has tried to hack my computer, I knew several features were not working but didn't know why, now its a case of getting someone to sort in all out. New printer does work from my laptop but all my files are on my desktop. Anyhow I've ended up reconnecting my old scanner to scan this as I'm beyond trying anything else new right now.

Used my PennyBlack Botanical notes for this card , coloured with my rediscovered Karisma pencils, I'd forgotten how much I loved them. Few freebie papers from my stash and a bit of ribbon. I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges

Fantasy Stampers -  Mums the word  - the challenge is for Mothers Day, its 35 years since I lost my lovely Mum, I think she would have loved a card like this

Fashionable Stamping - colour between the lines, I used my Karisma pencils to colour with

Penny Black at Allsorts - blossom and bows

One For The Guys

This week at Stamping Sensations the challenge is  One For The Guys.  There is a fab prize of £35 to spend in  Foilplay Store so get busy and enter your card.

I have used some of my favourite stamps on this card, the background stamp is a cover a card stamp by Impression Obsession, the balloon and compass are Indigo Blu and the wording is from Justrite stamps, all coloured with distress inks and the top panel has gilding flakes over the text and on the edges .Ages since I used gilding flakes but now I've dug them out I'll be using them again.

More Blue

Can't get a decent picture of my card, its very shimmery in real life, background paper made with starburst stains which have a lovely gold shimmer in them, I have had them for ever , don't know if they are still available.  Used a desire cut and emboss stencil on it. The stamp is pennyblack adornment. I wanted this stamp last year and it was out of stock everywhere and I did keep telling myself I really did not need anymore Christmas stamps, however just after Christmas I saw it on ebay and it fell into my shopping basket. It has been sitting on the table ever since so while trying to tidy up a bit tonight I saw it and the paper already coloured which seemed ideal for it.  This is my second Christmas card of the year, so much for going to make at least six every month LOL!  anyhow I thought I would enter into the February Rudolph days challenge which is anything goes as long as its a Christmas card

Pretty In Pink

Well Three Posts In A Row, must be feeling better!   Making yesterdays card reminded me of all the background stamps that are lurking unused for ages. I always used to make my own backgrounds until I got lured into using designer papers, new resolution, don't buy any more papers, could start my own shop with what I have and when I do use them I spend for ever trying to find ones that go together, how much easier to grab a stamp, some versamark ink and either distress ink pads or pan pastels.  This card I have used Justrite Paris Boutique stamp and grey and pink pan pastels. Corset stamp by Stampendous. Bit of hoarded rose ribbon and floral oval die. Entering a couple of challenges

Lotus

Here's my DT card for Cardsz4guyz this week, the challenge is for Oriental. I've struggled to get a decent photo of my card and it doesn't show the papers to full effect. The Stamp is called Lotus and is an old Acey Deucy stamp, don't know if they are still in existence but they did do some fabulous stamps. I've kept the rest of the card fairly simple, the embellishment was a gift from a friend a long time ago, I'm trying to use some of the things I've been hoarding.

Black and White

Think I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting over this horrible virus and time to get back to doing some crafting, I don't think I've ever gone so long having no interest whatsoever in anything !  Todays card is my entry for Fashionable Stamping's challenge.  Background is a Justrite background stamp overlaid with a memory box die cut. I can't remember the make of the stamp and don't have the original packaging. The quote is from Darkroom Door.

Puppy Love

The challenge this week at cardz4guyz is Puppy Love. A friend gave me this cute little image which I've coloured with water colour pencils and mounted on some seaside themed papers, just added a knot of matching twine for some interest.  We got Great grandchild number eleven last Friday ! losing count soon, the boys are now outnumbering the girls seven to four so more reason for me to keep making more male orientated cards!

Spring colours

Inspired by Brenda's card I thought I'd have another play with brushos, not the most successful play but the colours were more or less what I wanted, no idea what kind of bird this is but I added very little extra colour to it so I'm going to call it a bluebird. Used my watercolour pencils to add colour to the blossom and leaves. The stamp is Stampendous nestled bird and the sentiment is HobbyArt.

I'd like to enter this into Flonzcraft Vintage Stamping Challenge - Bring on Those Spring colours
and
Sunday Stamper - Birds

I was sure I'd posted this on Monday night but just found it sitting in posts as a draft!  Woke up in the early hours of Monday nights with a terrible stomach bug , spent most of this week in bed, now got the dreadful cough as well, I'm assuming its the dreaded virus that's been sweeping our village like the plague. Been unable to have anything but boiled water all week, drastic type of diet!  weak as a kitten and off back to bed.

Relax

Here's my DT card For this weeks Cardz4guyz challenge , the theme is Kick Back And Relax. I love this Inkylicious stamp of a guy daydreaming beneath a tree . The background is coloured with pan pastels as is the background paper, stamped delicate vines with versamark ink and then coloured over it with panel pastels , the verse is from their oriental awakening set.
