Make a scene

Time again for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it is Make A Scene. There are some lovely examples over on the challenge site to give plenty of inspiration so I hope you will visit the team.  I must admit this was not my first try but I was not happy with the one I made so this is my second try.  The background scene and paper are out of my scraps box and the stamps used are a very old set called Non Sequitur , one of the first sets of unmounted stamps I got I think, they came from the Stamp Man at Skipton, did love that shop and was so sorry when it went.

Make it colourful

Once again I have forgotten to schedule my post for Stamping Sensations, my head is all over the place these days!  It's time for some mid month inspiration for this months challenge and the design team have some stunning samples to show you on the challenge site.  Our sponsors this month are Visible Image.  Don't forget that to be in with a chance of winning the super prize your entry must be STAMPED,  not just a little sentiment, butterfly or background but the main focal point of your entry.

For my card I have used a Hobby Art stamp coloured with Koh-i-Noor watercolours.

Just because cards................

My poor blog seems to be getting a bit neglected these days, not because I am not doing any crafting but I have been busy making cards for my neighbours who are, like me, all elderly and staying home and can't get to the shops to buy any cards, started off with one person asking me and then several others asked too.  Gave me some impetus to get going again.  I have also been putting a few cards on Facebook.!

These are a couple I put on the Crafty Individuals Facebook page

and this is my first play with some New Hobby Art stamps

I always fall for these scene stamps but then never use them but the latest ones are a lot bigger and don't need anything else adding although I have added some extra sheep and the man and dog from another set.

A Sewing machine, a sewing machine .......

I was lucky enough to win some stamps from Crafty Individuals last week and I have used two sets to make this card.  I love old sewing things and I even have an old Singer sewing machine in one of the round topped wooden cases, haven't worked out how to thread it though. All the time I was making this card I had the sewing machine song or maybe it was an old advert? running through my head.

Bright colours

The challenge this month at Stamping Sensations is Bright Colours and we are sponsored by Visible Image.  On my card I have used their music and sentiment stamps,  (I'm not sure if I've got the music the right way up, tried it both ways and decided on this way up)  Hope to see you on our challenge with your STAMPED entries, as we are a stamping challenge any entry that does not have stamping as the focal point will not be considered for the prize, no pre cololoured digis allowed but you can use a digi that you have coloured yourself.

I had two goes at using these stamps with different backgrounds, couldn't decide which to use so posting them both.  The little gramophone stamp was a freebie from a magazine

Christmas Bells

Can't believe it's the 1st June. where does the time go !  We are in our thirteenth week of self isolating and I'm so glad I have my garden and my crafting to keep me busy.  We live in a small Close with mostly older people and I am getting quite a lot of requests for cards as no one is able to go out to the shops.

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and Fiona has chosen Christmas Bells for this challenge.  This one nearly had me stumped as I couldn't find anything with bells on, went through all my Christmas stamps, toppers, dies and about three years worth of old Christmas cards, nothing!
Finally found this little stamp on a set of freebies from a magazine, the wording was on the same set, the die cuts were already in my bits and bobs box and the embossed paper in my Christmas bits and pieces file so it was a quick assemble once I got going.
