Another Happy Birthday

I was asked to make an 80th Birthday card for a friend to give to her friend.  The only guide I was given was that she likes her garden and goes to church, so I just had to go with flowers.  The DP is from a 12x12 pad I got at The Works, 24 sheets of double sided for only £3. The stamps I have used are from the Christina collection at Craft Stash, I have had them for ages and this is the first time I've used them.  I did put a little verse inside the card "The kiss of the sun for pardon" one by Dorothy Francis Gurney as  a nod to church aspect, it's a little verse I've always related to as I find getting out into the garden very therapeutic.  I'd like to add my card to Allsorts Challenge

Yellow poppies

Time for a little mid month inspiration at Stamping Sensations where this months  challenge is "In an English Country Garden. "  For my card I have used an Inkylicious stamp which is a favourite of mine, just for a change I have made the poppies yellow as they are more like my garden poppies which I think are Californian poppies, had to add the two butterflies as can't have a garden without them although I was not too happy when I found two little caterpillars on my new climbing rose today ,need to keep an eye out for more of them.  Hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the lovely art work from the design team .  Don't forget we are a stamping challenge and need to see stamping as the main focus of your entry. There are lovely stamps from Chocolate Baroque to be won.

The Viewing

The new challenge at Stamping Sensations is An English Country Garden.  In my country garden I have a pair of Bluetits looking for a new home and wondering if this bird house will fit the bill!  In reality we have two pairs of Bluetits nesting right outside our dining room window and very busy little birds they are too.  The birds ,branches and bird box are stamps that were free with Simply cards and papercrafts, the daisies and bees are a Stampendous stamp.  We are sponsored this month by Chocolat Baroque and there are some lovely stamps to be won. We are a stamping challenge so there must be prominent stamping for your entry to be considered for the prize.

Nearly!

Joining in at Rudolph day with a very last minute card only realised half an hour ago so it was a quick root through the file where I keep Christmas stuff and found these cute snowmen already coloured. What looks like black on the mounts is actually green hologram paper but couldn't get it to look any better. The more I go scratting about in drawers and cupboards the more "stuff" I find and however hard I try it never gets any less, in fact I think it multiplies when I'm not looking.

Things with wings

A new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it is "Things with wings" plenty of scope there , birds, bees, bugs, butterflies, fairies to name just a few.  I have gone with a journal page this time and for a change from butterflies I have gone with dragonflies, I was going to colour them but after I stamped them I liked the way the colours showed through the wings. The dragonfly is a free stamp from Creative Stamping magazine a while ago.( I'm telling myself I need to use all the free stamps I collect with magazines)  The back ground was sprayed with Dylusions and I used various small stamps from the magazine set for background stamping. I hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the lovely work of the design team.

Moments

Using another of my birthday present stamps which I really love. I coloured the background with distress ink but I thought it was too bright when I'd done it so I cut a piece of vellum to the same size and ran them through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder which I have never used before, think it was free with a magazine some time ago but I really liked the effect so will be using it again. The centre piece is all one stamp and I cut it out with a circle die letting the flower and stalk overhang.  I painted the flower and butterflies with watercolour pens. The small butterflies and sentiment are all part of the same set by Studio Light. I'd like to enter my card into

Allsorts Challenge - which is butterflies, blossoms and bugs

Happy Easter

Easter is so late this year I had almost forgotten about it !  Today we have had the first day that I have been able to venture into the garden without being blasted by an icy wind although it was still sneaking about in shady areas.  I made a few quick Easter cards with this Honeydoo stamp I got at the Hochanda show in Harrogate in March, pleased to see they are coming back inNovember in  the large hall as it was a good show apart from the overcrowding.Simple inky background stamped with an inkylicioua vine stamp.

I'd like to enter this in Country View Challenge - Easter or Spring and
Ellibelles Wednesday Challenge - Wings, tails or spring blossoms

Wino's

This Art Impression stamp was one of the many my dear Sister sent me for my Birthday, she really spoils me !  I have had a really busy week but managed to find time tonight to make this card for a friend who's birthday is tomorrow, it's a hand deliver so no worries about being late with post. I belong to a Women's Group in our village and at the slightest excuse the wine is flowing, makes for a very fun Scrabble evening for example !

I'd like to enter my card into Make My Monday Challenge - which is Something Humorous

Save The Bees

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is "use a stencil or two" or as many as you like . For my journal page I have used  a honeycomb one  and a Paperartsy flower one for the little red flowers.  I used a page that already had some red and blue splotches on from a previous page, then used two shades of yellow brusho liberally sprayed with water which did cause a bit of page buckling ! The stamps I used are all from
Hobby Art Save The Bees set with the exception of the small honeycomb one which was a freebie I think.

The team have some fabulous samples on the challenge site so do pay them a visit
