Monochromatic

 I've not been crafting for a few weeks now, had a bad fall, small fracture in bone in knee and very painful torn ligaments in the back of my knee, other than issuing me with a Zimmer frame NHS didn't seem to be able to offer any other help. Anyhow I do need a few cards for later this month and after seeing one made by a blog buddy I have naughtily cased her card, hope she will forgive me.I have used different colours and changed the layout a bit. I used some brads to attach the bits and pieces, seem to have an awful lot of them and hardly ever use them nowadays, I think we all stopped using "bumpy" embellishments when the postage went up for thicker cards !

Use Book Paper

 It's challenge time again at Try It On Tuesday and this time we are asking you to use book pages on your entry.  The design team have some fabulous samples over on the challenge site so I hope you will visit them.  For my page I have used a page from my Art Journal that I had already got ink on from rolling off my brayer after making something else, I just added a bit more distress ink and some stencilling which doesn't show up too well on here and then stamped the whole page with an AALL and Create stamp( this stamp is huge!)  restamped the bottle on dictionary pages and added some words cut from a magazine.

Summer Blooms

 Time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time the subject is Summer Blooms . The design team have some fabulous samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay the a visit. For my card I have used a Penny Black Wreath stamp coloured with water colour paints.

Pretty Flowers

 First time using this stamp which came with the Indigo Blu 3rd box set and I love it, so easy as it fills a complete card and just needs a mount and sentiment to finish off.  I would like to enter my card into Make My Monday challenge which is slimline cards

Keep it simple

 I,m late with my design team card for the new challenge on Try it on Tuesday which asks us To keep It Simple.  The design team have lovely samples on the challenge so I hope you will visit them..  For me card I have used some inky paper from my stash, an embossing folder and two butterflies from a Tim Holtz bigz die.

Feathered friends

 Time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time the challenge is "Feathered Friends"

For my card I inked a piece of card with distress inks to make the background for the lighthouse which I stamped , coloured and fussy cut, stamp was a freebie in a magazine, birds are an Inkylicious stamp.  The Tide table stamp and the seagull are both Crafty Individual stamps.  The design team have a great set of samples on the challenge blog so hope you will visit them there.

Travel and Adventure

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Travel/ adventure. The design team have some great samples to show you over on the challenge blog so do pop over and visit them.  For my card I have used some papers from Heartfelt Creations that I have had for a very long time, the wording is also from their papers,the motor bike is a stamp from a Creative Stamping magazine a couple of years ago.

Hit The Road

 I thought I'd make a card for the Cardz4guyz challenge which is travel. I always seem to use trains,planes or boats for these challenges so for a change I've used this cute camper van that came fom a Creative Stamping magazine a couple of years ago as did the other stamps. We no longer have a car so don't need the map books anymore so I appropriated them for craft use, the piece I've used on here is an area where we used to spend quite alot of time with our caravan, happy days !

Here comes Summer

 I’m a day late with my post for Try it on Tuesday challenge, lost track of the days!  This time the challenge is Here comes Summer, lovely samples by the design team on the challenge blog. Background is just card dipped in distress inks on my glass mat. All the stamps have been free from magazines.     

For The Man In Your Life

 Its time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time we are asking for your entries to be For The Man In Your Life . The design team have some great samples on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit. For my card I have used Crafty Individual stamps with the background made with smaller stamps from a different set.

Masculine

 I love this little motorbike and sidecar stamp, reminds me of when our parents used to pile us kids into the sidecar and off we went to the seaside, no health and safety in those days! The background is using a stencil I have had for years, no idea whose make it is.

Butterflies

 Cannot believe how fast the weeks rush by and here we are with a new challange on Try It On Tuesday.

This time we would like to see lots of butterflies on your entries.The design team have lovely samples on the challenge blog so hope you will pay them a visit. 

For my card I used some stamps that were free last year with a magazine , I wasn't impressed with them when I got them but now, having used them I am really happy with them.Coloured with water colour paints and some layered stencilling in the background.

We will always have Paris

 Sorting out some craft stuff I came across a file full of Justrite Stamps, can't believe I had forgotten I had them.  The Background is one large collage stamp, just added a bit of distress ink and coloured the crown etc.  Thinking of what to add I remembered the Lost Coast Can Can girls stamp, just coloured bits of it as its a bit sketchy in parts, the legs partly disappear so just have to guess where to cut !  I am entering this into

Sail away

 The title of my post today is very appropriate as we have had non stop rain all day and its cold too, hard to believe we are nearly through May.  Our lawn is starting to look like a hay meadow as its just too wet to cut and although I have got the plants bought haven't been able to plant out summer bedding.  

The card today is a Woodware collage stamp stamped onto an inky background made by dabbing the piece of card into various distress inks pressed onto a glass mat and sprayed with water, one of my favourite ways of doing backgrounds, never quite know what am going to end up with, the background mat is a done through a wave stencil with the same colour inks.Butterfly is 3d'd and Compass stamped and fussy cut. I'm entering this into Cardz4guyz challenge - make your own background and  The Male Room challenge - Water/Beach 

 

Sympathy

 Sympathy cards are not the best things to have to make and I have been asked for quite a lot over the last eighteen months.  I always try to keep them quite simple with muted colours and this Penny Black stamp seems quite appropriate for either a man or woman.  I used a Lavinia stencil and distress ink for the background, the sentiment is from a set of Inkylicious stamps
