Relax

With the horrible weather we are having at the moment it's more like November than June, still wearing winter clothes and putting the heating on.  I've made another card with the last lot of stamps that came with Creative Stamping , I keep saying I am not buying it anymore but then I see the stamps and into my basket it goes !I stamped the background DP with the beach huts from the set and the word Relax is also from it. I'd like to enter my card into Allsorts Challenge which is to use pastel colours

Material girl

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Material Girl,  now is the chance to be feminine and fancy, add lace, ribbon,fabrics, stitching real or faux.   I have added lace, ribbon, a bow and fabric flower. The image was a freebie from Bumble Button a couple of years ago.embossing folder is Stampin Up. The design team have some fabulous inspiration over at the challenge blog so hope you will visit them and join in our challenge.

The Big Bunch

Well as the weather is so grey and miserable I thought I would go to town with some bright colours for my mid month card for Stamping Sensations challenge which is Show Your True Colours . I coloured this Woodware stamp with Pro markers for a change from my usual water colours.  There is still plenty of time to enter our challenge   as we are a stamping challenge your entry must have prominent stamping as the focal point.. There is a £25 voucher from our sponsors Visible Image to be won.

Well I got carried away again and clicked the buy now button for this stamp!  I really don't know what I was thinking.  It took me ages to colour it and not made a very good job of it either, I did heat emboss it but even so I've got a couple of "bleeds"

It's a man's world

We have a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it is "It's a man's world" . We want to see your projects for a men/boys of any age. The design team have some great samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pop over to visit them.  Now I usually have no problem with stuff for men but was  clueless this time, in the end I have gone for a monochrome collage of  this guy's ideas rolling round in his head. A mix of stamps ,all old ones, some Elusive image and the rest Hero Arts.

I would love to be able to lie on a beach basking in the sun, almost forgotten what the sun looks like with the awful weather we are having  and more rain forecast for the rest of the week too, flaming June seems to be a total washout!

To The Lighthouse

I made this card for The Library challenge.  The inspiration book this time is To The Lighthouse, not a book I've read but I really liked the book cover so thought I would have a go. Well this is a very simple card but I have made and binned two others before this !  I will probably add a sentiment later .

This is the book cover. I had originally intended stamping the lighthouse on the striped background but then decided to go for a cleaner look.

Fantasy

I've not been able to do much crafting recently due to a very painful shoulder, I did get a steroid shot last Tuesday and it has helped but not as much as I hoped!. Today I was determined to try and get back to creating something so I settled on the Allsorts challenge which is Fantasy World. As usual I spent far too long procrastinating on what to use, fairies? Unicorns? gnomes ? finally settled on my favourite Stampendous  mermaid stamp, she is so pretty!  I spent ages colouring her tail with pearlescent paint and she is very sparkly IRL.  The seaweed etc is a Kaisercraft stamp and I added some bubbles from another set , a few sequins and a rusty anchor.

Sparkly Butterfly

Time again for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations and this month we are asking you to show us your favourite colours . We are sponsored this month by Visible Image and there is a £25 voucher for their store to be won.  The background on my card is made with Brushos and they were not playing nicely for me for once ! I was aiming for a blue,green background so nearly got it eventually. Stamped Visible Image butterfly with black Versafine, heat set it and then stamped over it again with Versamark and embossed it with Kalaidescope E.P, its a lovely purple/blue and very sparkly. The wording is also a Visible Image stamp, I just added a few crystal gems to finish.  Hope you will join us in our challenge but please remember that we are a stamping challenge and the main focus of your entry must be stamped. Digi stamps are allowed as long as they are hand coloured.

Sparkles Christmas. Fiona has chosen the theme for this month and she has asked for us to show a reindeer.  Everything on this card other than the base card came from my box of Christmas "stuff" which I am trying to use up without much success!   Hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the lovely designs by the design team and join in our challenge too.

May Rudolph Day

A quick card for May Rudolph day challenge, three jolly snowmen in a snow globe  Everything except the base card from my box of Christmas stuff once again, I really need to get things used up or throw them away !   Been busy getting my garden sorted out for village open gardens on Saturday somewhat hindered by a very painful shoulder and arm, waiting an appointment for a steroid injection now. Weather forecast is not brilliant for Saturday so fingers crossed we manage to get a few hours with no rain, I was also hoping to sell cards for my charity but don't think I can risk having them outside!

Make a mark

 The challenge at Try It On Tuesday this time is "Make a Mark"  abstract patterns,grid,circles, squares, chevrons etc.  I have an abstract inky background and random stencilling among my Paper Artsy flowers and butterfly. Another Happy Birthday

I was asked to make an 80th Birthday card for a friend to give to her friend.  The only guide I was given was that she likes her garden and goes to church, so I just had to go with flowers.  The DP is from a 12x12 pad I got at The Works, 24 sheets of double sided for only £3. The stamps I have used are from the Christina collection at Craft Stash, I have had them for ages and this is the first time I've used them.  I did put a little verse inside the card "The kiss of the sun for pardon" one by Dorothy Francis Gurney as  a nod to church aspect, it's a little verse I've always related to as I find getting out into the garden very therapeutic.  I'd like to add my card to Allsorts Challenge

Yellow poppies

Time for a little mid month inspiration at Stamping Sensations where this months  challenge is "In an English Country Garden. "  For my card I have used an Inkylicious stamp which is a favourite of mine, just for a change I have made the poppies yellow as they are more like my garden poppies which I think are Californian poppies, had to add the two butterflies as can't have a garden without them although I was not too happy when I found two little caterpillars on my new climbing rose today ,need to keep an eye out for more of them.  Hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the lovely art work from the design team .  Don't forget we are a stamping challenge and need to see stamping as the main focus of your entry.There are lovely stamps from Chocolate Baroque to be won.
