Santa Claus is coming to town

 

Time flies and so does Santa, it's time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and we would like to see Santa projects this time, any kind of project is welcome as long as it includes our Santa theme , cards, journal pages ,ATCs etc.  For my card I have used stamps that were free with a Crafts Beautiful magazine a few years ago , the sky is done with pan pastels and Santa and reindeers coloured with pencils.

Traditional Christmas

 New challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Traditional Christmas so for my Dt sample I've created a snowy scene using a new to me set of Hobby Art stamps. its one large stamp other than the grasses and greeting so makes for quick and easy batch making!  I have added lots of glitter which doesn't show up on here but it's very sparkly in real life.  The design team have some lovely inspiration over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit.

I've ben missing in action for a couple of weeks due to computer problems but hopefully all sorted now and hoping to post some more Christmas cards soon.

Sparkle All The Way

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Sparkle All The Way, well to me Sparkle means Christmas so my DT entry has to be a Christmas card.  I made the background with Pan Pastels which I have had for years and  and only just started using them again. The Tree with the birds is a Nellie Snellen stamp, Stag is my old favourite from Lavinia, rabbits from Card-io, small trees and wording from Creative Stamping magazine.  The design team have lots of sparkle over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit

Halloween

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Halloween, lots of spooky examples on the challenge blog from the design team so I hope you will visit them.  I have used stamps from a number of stamp sets to make my little scene, mainly Stampendous and Hero Arts I think, I hve no idea about the witch stamp as I don't havethe packaging.  I quite like making Halloween cards although I don't know why as I never send them to anyone so I have quite a collection made over all the years.  

Autumn

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Autumn, with the strange weather we keep having I'm beginning to think we don't have seasons anymore, We've been having to put the heating on some days last week then aother days its been really warm, today poured with rain most of the day but was also very warm. The trees are only just starting to change colour round here but there are an amazing amount of berries this year, was always told was a warning of a bad winter to come so we shall see, I'm just happy that both our Rowan trees and and the pyracantha are loaded with berries, the blackbirds are already feasting on the ones right outside my window.  The design team have some lovely samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will visit them.  My card is a bit of a hotchpotch this time as I forgot to do my design team card until last minute.  The trees are one of my most favourite ever Crafty Individual stamps but all the rest are from an old Creative Stamping magazine.

Going round in circles

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "Going round in circles"  .We welcome all kinds of projects as long as the main focus follows our challenge theme.  The design team have lots of inspiration for you over on the challenge site and I hope you will pay them a visit.  For my card I have kept it simple with a stencil from Inkylicious which I have had a long time and a couple of stamps from a Stampin Up set which I've also had quite a long time. I spent the longest time looking for some little music note stamps which I finally found on an old Justrite set of stamps.

Fantasy

 There is a new challenge starting today on Try It On Tuesday and this time the challenge is Fantasy, anything type of project is welcome as long as it follows the challenge theme.  I have chosen to do a page in my little Kraft journal using the lovely mermaid stamp by Stampendous and a few random stamps from various sets.  As usual the design team have some great inspirational pieces over on the challenge blog and they would love you to pay them a visit.

Lets Go Outside

 

How time flies! time again for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it's "Lets go outside"lots of inspiration from the design team over on the challenge site so hope you will pay them a visit.  All the stamps on my card are by Hobby Arts, I have a lot of their stampa and don't use them enough, after I'd finished this card I thought that maybe I could have stamped the farmer and his dog walking across the field but knowing my luck if I try to do it now would probably be a disaster !

I seem to be on a bit of a theme at the moment, here's another music card .  Background made with distress inks and reversed inked stencil.  the figures are from an old Inkadinkado set ( wonder if they are still in existance ?) and the various sayings and music notes are from Creative Stamping magazines.

Dragonflies

 Saw a couple of challenges for dragonflies and as I love anything with dragonflies on I thought I'd enter them. Woodware Fennel stamp is stamped and embossed in white and random distress inks applied, the two dragonflies stamped and cut out and coloured with varios gilding polishes, very shiny and sparkly in real life.  I'd like to enter these challenges

Sing a song

 Where does the time go ?  it's another Tuesday and a new challenge from Try It On Tuesday and this time it is "Sing a song" so we would like to see your entries that are inspired by a song, some lovely inspiration over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay the team a visit.

Maritime

 There seems to be quite a few challenges about at the moment with a nautical/maritime theme so thought it a chance to play with one of my nautical stamps of which I see to have quite a collection for

Use three colours

 Its time for another challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time it's use three colours (this does not include black ink for stamping or the colour of the base card)  We welcome all type of art, cards, ATCs ,art journal pages etc just as long as it is true to the challenge theme.  For my card my colours are blue, red and yellow plus the black stamping.  The stamp is from an Indigo Blu box set from last year or maybe the year before that and its first time of inking!  think it might be getting more use now I've sen how well it stamps and it makes a really quick card too.  

My Type

 Having another play with my favourite typewriter stamp and also another new woodware stamp with lots of number stamps. Background is distress oxides and Funky Fossil stencils.  I need to try and find some more small sentiment stamps to fit in the message space and then will fit  a lot more occasions

Summer Blooms

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Summer Blooms and there is some lovely inspiration from the design team over on the challenge blog so hopefully you will pay them a visit. We welcome all kinds of crafts provided they follow the challenge theme so hope you will join in the challenge.  My card is quite simple as the stamp says it all, its a large stamp from Studio Light called Honey Bees, I'll probably add a sentiment when I know where its going. I deliberately kept the colours light as I do tend to be a bit heavy handed, I just used water colours and lots of water !.

 I usually seem to make masculine cards in darker shades, blues and browns but I loved the wording with this stamp set and went with the sunset colours, all the stamps are from Visible Image Ride the wind set. This card is for our son-in-law's birthday, he seems to have a hobby of collecting real motor bikes !

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Birds and/or feathers. My first dilemma was which stamps to use as I seem to have a rather large collection of bird stamps accumulated over the years, I finally settled on yet another old set of stamps, this time from Oxford Impressions, I have made a page for my little Kraft journal using inky background, some stencilling and layers of stamping. It looked a bit flat so I thought it would be a good idea to drag out the sewing machine and sew round it, big mistake ! had to unpick the first try and by the time I'd finally finished the sewing took longer than making the page .The design team have some fabulous inspiration over on the challenge blog so hope you will pay them a visit

Vintage

 I got the latest issue of Indigo Blu box set in the post yesterday and last night intended having a play with the lovely stamps and stencils so how did I end up with this instead !  The elegant lady has been hanging around in my box of unfinished stuff for ages and for some reason I decided to do something with her instead,also found the Just Rite background stanp which made for a good background for her, the other stamps are all from the same set as the lady, a very old unmounted red rubber set that came from The Stamp Man shop back in the mists of time  I really enjoyed making the inky background with several different stencils and stamps and wasn't too keen on covering it all up .  This page will go in my little Kraft journal when I get round to making another page in similar style for a double spread.

D is for dragonfly

 I seem to be having a bit of nostalgia at the moment when it comes to stamping as I keep going back to my older stamps, I have had this Stampendous one a long time and its not had much use . For this card I simply stamped the background with inkylicious splats and splatters stamp inked with distress ink and spritzed and stamped the dragobfly over it with versamark ink and gold embossed, just added a little extra colour to the wings, The card I stamped on is white glimmer which has gold in it and I added some sparkle to the wings too which doesn't show on here

Make It Masculine

 Its time again for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time we are asking you to Make It Masculine. As always we welcome all kinds of projects, cards, art journal pages, atc's etc as long as it follows the challenge theme.  For my card I have used a large background stamp by Studio Light on a piece of distress ink coloured card. The ship and nautical bits are Stampin Up .no idea where the die came from. A fairly quick card to make once I had stopped dithering about what to do. I actually enjoy making male cards , usually try and keep them fairly simple though.  The design team have some lovely samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay them a visit.

The Reading List

 I was happy to see that the The Library Challenge had started up again. I have not read this book so only have the cover to go by so I have chosen to use the cat on the window sill.  For my card I have used an old Penny Black stamp that I've always loved so was pleased to give it another inking, I think the brick stencil is a Funky Fossil one but not sure.

 I've been trying to catch up on family birthday cards this week, this one is for an adult Grandson, I usually make him a golfing card but I've run out of stamps I've already used on his card so used this Visible Image car stamp instead. Things with wings

 I've had this Studio Light stamp for a while but just got round to using it, it's a big stamp,only just fits on this DL card.I stamped and clear embossed it and put a wishy,washy watercolour wash all over it, then water coloured the flowers and stalks. I had stamped the butterfly images onto another piece of card ,painted them,cut them out and 3D d them onto the card, I really love this stamp and will be using a lot in different colourwise !

Keep it simple

 Another two weeks flown by and it's time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday. this time the theme is "Keep it simple" We welcome all kinds projects, cards. journal pages, atc's , mixed media etc as long as the project follows the challenge theme.  For my simple card I lightly stencilled the background with an alphabet stencil and stamped the typewriter and birthday message with black versafine, just added a strip of washi tape to finish it off. The stamp is a new one by Woodware and I really like it, reminds me of my working days back in the 50's and 60's rattling away on an old manual typewriter(not quite as old a model as this one!)  never felt the same when the electric ones and then the word processors came in !  The design team have lots of lovely samples over on the challenge blog so I hope you will pay thm a visit.

Any kind of art is welcomed as long as it follows the challenge theme.  For my card I tried for the first time using water on a stencil and I really loved the soft effect produced.  My focal stamp is from Visible Image and ,at the moment, one of my favourite stamps.  The design team have some fabulous samples over on the challenge site so I hope you will pay them a visit.

A few special birthdays

 

I haven't been in the mood for making cards recently but as there were a few special birthday cards needed I had to get going and now I'm feeling a bit more motivated !  These are not really my type of cards but made to suit the recipients (I Hope)  Having got these completed I've been busy getting a bit more inky tonight and have another couple almost finished so will be posting them soon.  I have really neglected my blog and spend too much time aimlessly snooping on facebook LOL.

Here comes Spring

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Here Comes Spring.  My first thoughts about spring are always about new growth so my journal pages is about flowers and baby birds.  My background is inked and stencilled, bird in the nest is a very old Stampendous stamp, flowers are Thinlets die cuts.  The design team have lots of inspiration over on the challenge site so I hope you will pay them a visit.

Oh so sweet

 Oh how the weeks fly by ! now it's time for the new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and this time its "Oh so sweet"  This can be any type of medium, journal pages ,cards etc as long as it fits the challenge. My first idea was cake but then I changed my mind and used this little sweet angel instead, its a very old Oxford Impressions stamp from Fairy Sweets set, the heart and sentiment are from another Oxford Impressions set.  Hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see the lovely samples from the design team.

Go Green

 There is still another week to enter our Go Green challenge at Try It On Tuesday. Cards, journal pages ,anything goes as long as it follows the theme. For my card I have used a new stamp which was free with a magazine, the background stamp is Inkylicious splat stamp and the embossed panel is a Gina Kay embossing folder (I think? as it was a gift last Christmas)

 Todays new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "Go Green"  either the colour or to go green by recycling etc.  Today for my card I have done both, I have recycled a card I made a long time ago with white embossing and an old Hero Art stamps.  The design have some fabulous samples over on the challenge blog so I am hoping you will pay them a visit. Lets get messy

 The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "Lets get messy"  any type of medium is fine as long as it follows the theme.  My get messy is a page in my small kraft journal which is makinly made from mop up papers from earlier messier projects, I just added a bit of stencilling  and stamping, water coloured the butterfly and added a few bits and pieces.  The mop up paper by the way is from a roll of wallpaper lining paper which is quite old and has got a nice aged look to it to start with !

The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is All you need is love, almost Valentines day so hoping to see plenty of love on your entries !  All mediums are welcome as long as the challenge theme is included, For my card the background is a gelli plate play, added extra stamping vines , birds and hearts.  The bunnies are Crafty Individual stamps and the wording computer generated.

Winter Blues

 Time for our new challenge over at Try It on Tuesday and this time it is "Winter Blues"  The design team have some lovely inspiration for you over on the challange blog so I hope you will pay them a visit. For my card I have used a background made using my round gelli plate and distress inks, the animal stamps are Lavinia and I can't remember where the bird stamp is from. I'll probably put this is my Christmas card box for next year !

 I haven't got my brain in gear since Christmas and completely forgot to do my post for the

Try It On Tuesday Challenge which started last Tuesday. As the first challenge of 2023 the challenge is "In with the new", this can be new products, a new technique or anything else as long as it follows the challenge theme. The design team have , as usual< lots of lovely inspiration for you over on the challenge blog.  For my "new"  I have used a new Visible Image stamp and a print from my round gelli plate .
