Christmas is coming

It's time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and the theme is Christmas Is Coming. There are some lovely samples from the design team on the challenge site so hope you will go and show them some appreciation.  Unusually for me my card is all die cuts, white pearlescent and gold card. I must admit I am quite traditional about Christmas and I always like a nativity scene.

Winter Wonderland

Time for the December challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this time the theme is Winter Wonderland.  I have used an Inkylicious stamp and pan pastel for my card.  the little stars are gold even though they don't look it on here. Hope to see you on our last challenge of the year.,

Anything Goes

The new challenge at Stamping Sensations this month is Anything goes .  We are sponsored this month by Be Creative and there is a lovely prize to be won.  Please make sure your entry has stamping as the main focal point for your entry to be considered for the prize, s small stamped sentiment does nor count.

For my cards I have used my favourite Christmas tree from Stampin Up's Lovely as a tree set and the stamped poinsettia is also an old time favourite, I think it is from Crafters Companion but I have lost the packaging.

Away in a manger

Time again for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday. The theme this time is Inspired By A Song/Carol.  I've gone with the Carol option as I had just got this Woodware stamp and wanted to use it.  Unfortunately I have had great difficulty in getting it to stamp properly, this is the best out of several attempts so it's not going to be the quick Christmas card stamp I thought it was going to be!
Stamped with Versafine and clear embossed, coloured with distress inks. The back ground is coloured with the same DI and stamped with a liitle star stamp from a free set.I hope you will visit the challenge site and see the lovely samples by the design team and then join in our challenge

I'd also like to add my card to The Rudolph Day challenge, last one for this year and I've managed to enter every month this year.

Traditional Colours

Its time for the November challenge at Stamping Sensations and this month we want to see traditional Christmas colours.  We are sponsored this month by Chocolate Baroque and there are some lovely stamps to be won !

For my card I used distress inks Festive Berries and Twisted Citron for the background piece and did a bit of water splattering, then stamped the berry sprigs all over it.  I stamped the poinsettia on a piece of white card and coloured it with the same distress inks but it looked a bit wish washy so went over it with pro markers, added a bit of glitter to the flower centres.

I Hope you will join in our challenge but please remember that to be in with a chance of winning a prize your entry must be stamped and follow the theme. A small added sentiment does not count, the stamping needs to be the main point of your entry.

It's time for Rudolph Day again and I am trying to make sure I enter every month this year.  For my card I have used an inked embossing folder ( I did try stamping on the folder too but was not too sucessful.  I do like the Merry Moose die, makes me smile he's so jaunty in his red bridle and collar !

Trees and Leaves (2)

Time for some mid month inspiration at Stamping Sensations which is still Trees&/leaves and there is a £25 voucher for Stamp Addicts shop still waiting to be won.  As we are a stamping challenge your entry MUST have stamping as the main focal point of your entry and follow the theme.

For my card I have used some stamps that came with a stamping magazine last year, the leaves already had splatters round them so I just added some more with Rusty Hinge distress ink which is what I used to stamp the leaves. The Tree stamp is a Crafty Individual stamp also stamped with Rusty Hinge Ink.

Halloween

A new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and it is Witches, Wizards and Halloween fun.  I don't do halloween cards so my DT piece is a journal page using the Crafty Individuals raven, tried to make it look spooky by having the grave stone rising out of the swirling mist .  Distress ink background and a few bats flitting across the moon.  Do have a look on the challenge blog as the DT have some much more interesting pieces to inspire you to join in the challenge

Autumn Colours

A card for s friends birthday which I should have posted today but somehow I didn't get it finished last night and have just remembered to finish it off tonight, if I get it in the post tomorrow morning might just make it in time .  I have used a Woodware stamp I bought at Stamperama last March and it's the first time I have used it, coloured with water colour paints and the layers are all done with distress inks  I'd like to enter my card into Make My Monday Challenge which is Autumn Colours

Bokeh

Hmm I think I could have been a bit more subtle with the white ink but its ages since I did the bokeh technique and when I saw it was this months challenge at Country View Crafts I thought I'd have a play. The back ground is distress inks and the white is brilliance moonlight white. Used a stencil to add a few more small circles and stamped some seaweed round the edges. still looked a bite bare so added a few sequins

Autumn Leaves

The challenge for October at Stamping Sensations is Trees and /or Leaves. I decided to go with leaves mainly because I really wanted to use the lovely Inkylicious wording stamp which I have had since last year and not had a chance to use it.  The stamped leaves are from Stampin Up French Foliage set except for the large embossed one which is an Inklicious one.We are sponsored this month by Stamp Addicts and there is a very generous £25 voucher for their store to be won.  We look forward to seeing your entries which MUST have stamping as the focal area of your entry. Entries which do not follow the theme or the rules will not be eligible for chance to win the prize.

Animal Magic

October already, where has the time gone!  The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Animal Magic The Team have some fabulous inspiration for you over at the challenge site so hope you will take a look. For some reason I seem to have accumulated a number of Unicorn stamps and what is more magical than a Unicorn !  For my card I have made a brusho background and then stamped the Unicorn and wording with versamark and embossed in detail white.  I bleached out some of the colour from the Unicorn with a diluted bleach mixture so it left some colour behind.  The stamps are all Inkylicious.  Hope you have fun and enter our challenge.

Make us laugh

Its time for the October challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this time Jane has chosen the challenge "Make us Laugh".  Well last minute Annie me knew exactly what image I was going to use but after spending most of the afternoon searching for it I did a hasty look for printables on Pinterest and found these funny little Robin images.  Coloured him with Charisma pencils as I wasn't sure if the ink jet image would bleed if I used my promarkers, added some glitter and a die cut snowflake.  Hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the inspiration from the design team and join in our challenge.

Oh Holy Night

This is the best of  a bad lot of photos of my card, I usually scan my cards but on this one the gold looked black no matter what I tried. I just got the star frame and I thought it would go well with my new Holy Night stamp which unfortunately doesn't show up too well on here, also I really wanted to use a darker background but couldn't find a darker blue amongst my stacks of card stock. If I make some more of these I will make an inky background. Anyhow I was determined not to miss the
Rudolph Challenge as I have managed to enter every month up to now.

Its time for a little mid month inspiration at Stamping Sensations and  the team have some fabulous cards to inspire you.  For my card I have used a very large Woodware stamp for the focal image, the little flowers are from the same set. There were also various bits of DP with the images stamped on to paper piece the dresses so just a bit of colouring and fussy cutting, some die cut and embossed mats and another card for the pile. There are a few more of these so will make them up later.  I'd like to enter my card to

Naughty cat

The other day I came across yet another file full of stamped or printed digital images so I am on a mission to try and use some of them up. I think the stamped ones are from when I have had friends here and used some of their stamps as I don't recognise them as being mine.  There were a few of this cat which I know is a Penny Black stamp as I do have another one in this series.  After I'd coloured it I couldn't find any papers to match so coloured some with distress oxides.  I'd like to enter this card into

Penny Black and More Challenge - Animals

and this is a second one with another of the cat stamps

Its Rudolph Time again

Another month flown by and I realised I had not made a card for the Rudolph Challenge I haven't missed a month up to now so don't want to fall at the last post !  This is one of the cards I am making kits of for a group of 40 plus non crafters to make in November, someone kindly volunteered me to do it and I know they had no idea of the task they were setting me!   For this card I have used a die I bought in The Works, ( cuts beautifully)  cut it in gold and red and glued them together, it''s a very simple card but I am quite happy with it.

Lets Dance

Make My Monday challenge this week is "Dance"  gave me a chance to use this Stampendous stamp that I really like but it gets very little use. I love that it takes so little time to make, the verse is part of the stamp, just had to add a bit of colour and some little crystal drops for the rain.

While I was in the mood I also made another card, this time using a  creative expressions stamp for the dancers and some stamps that were free with Creative Stamping last year.

Things with wings 2

Time for a mid month bit of inspiration over at Stamping Sensations and the design team have some lovely samples to show you.  I'm a bit disappointed at how my card looks on here ,it is brighter in real life although I do find that the oxide inks do tend to look a bit duller than the ordinary distress inks, maybe its just how I use them.  For my card I have used a favourite TH background stamp and a butterfly stamp that was free with a magazine.  There is still plenty of time to enter the challenge but as we are a stamping challenge we must see stamping as the focal point of your entry.

Gift From The Sea

Just a bit of playing about for the the Library Challenge which this time is a book by
Anne, Morrow Lindbergh. I haven't heard of this book or the author so my piece is inspired by the title which is Gift From The Sea.  The little saying is so true, I love going to the seaside and it does make me so happy so that is a gift from the sea to me. I just used a couple of bits of DP and computer generated the saying.  The large shell stamp is a very old one, had quite a search to find it. stamped it with Memento Peanut Brittle, overstamped it with Versamark and the coloured it with gold and pink mica powder to get a lovely shine. I'll probably stick this is my art journal.

It's snowtime !

Time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this time Caz has chosen the theme of Its Snowtime.  Well I don't know about you but we have had the strangest weather over the last week, hottest day on record one minute , amazing thunderstorms and torrential rain, we did miss the hailstone storms which have been all around us, did someone say it's summer !
For my card I have used a Hunkydory topper and paper from old stash which I am trying to use up.The winter wonderland stamp was free with magazine a couple of years ago. The design team have some lovely cards to show you over on the challenge blog so hope you will visit them and join in our challenge.

Colours Of The Rainbow

The new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is "Colours Of The Rainbow" so we are hoping to see lots of colour this time around.  The design team have lots of inspiration over on the challenge site so hope you will visit them.  For my card I have used a stamp from Stamping up  Work Of Art set. I couldn't find any appropriate wording but ended up cutting up an Inkylicious stamp that had never been used although the rest of the set had, I would have been horrified at cutting up stamps at one time but now I take the scissors without a qualm !

The Earth Laughs In flowers

Time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations and this time the theme is "The Earth laughs in flowers" so we need to see your lovely floral creations.  We are sponsored this month by
Crafty Individuals  who have an amazing range of beautiful stamps. This is all one stamp but I have re stamped the largest rectangle and lifted it with foam tape, also decoupaged the butterfly and blue flowers, restamped and fussy cut two extra butterflies too,. The background DP is from
Crafty Individuals also. .  I found some Inktense liquid water colours I had forgotten about and used them as I wanted to go a bit more vibrant than my usual watercolours. I have watered them down a little as the colours as so bright, loving them all over again!  I hope you will join us in our challenge BUT do remember we are a stamping challenge and must show prominent stamping and follow the theme to stand a chance of winning the very generous voucher from Crafty Individuals.

The Rainbow

The current Library Challenge is The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence, once again a book I have not read.
This is the cover which is the inspiration

An Unrushed Walk Through A Very Different Time - The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence | Byte The Book

I think I got a bit carried away and gone a bit overboard with the rainbow colours, didn't have a stool but found this stamp with the chair which I wanted to be centre stage, stamped the two women as shadowy figures in the back ground Not the best interpretation but I had fun making it and in the process rediscovered all my Paperbag Studio and Oxford Impression stamps that have not seen the light of day for a long time !

also entering
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - make your own background/

Another Christmas card

Time for the July challenge at Sparkles Christmas

Added some die cut deer and a star, some red and gold stickles on the tree and gold stickles for stars in the sky. Look forward to you joining in our challenge.

Sea views

Another card made with the latest stamps from Creative Stamping Magazine, I have loved playing with this stamp set and there are still a lot of the stamps I haven't used yet.  The DP is from the Nautical Signature Collection ( I wasn't buying any more papers but can't resist a bit of nautical!) I stamped , coloured and cut out the lighthouse scene and the bird (long tailed Skua) anchor is die cut and bit of mesh stuff from my stash. There are a lot of layers on this card , base card, blue mat, wood paper, scallop and plain ovals, cut out lighthouse and bird plus the netting and anchor so I'm entering this into the Male Room Challenge which is "Multiple  Layers"

We Three Kings

Nearly missed Rudolph Day, I seem to be playing catch up with everything these days, a quick card to make, background is pan pastels, every thing else is die cuts. The top panel is mounted onto silver mirri card and looks lovely but can't get a decent picture of it for here!.  I think I will be making a few of these as they are so quick and easy!  I know I have made some of these previously with glitter background but I don't seem to have blogged them.
